Tribhuvan University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Call of admission application for MPhil and Ph.D.
This notice has been published for the information of all concerned as the application has been opened by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences for the candidates who are enrolled in the MPhil and Ph.D. level in the group of 2077 under the philosophy and doctoral program and want to study.
The application form can be submitted from 14th Falgun, 2077 to 13th Chaitra and with a double fee till 18th Chaitra. The entrance examination will start at 12:00 noon on 28th Chaitra, 2077 BS. Admission in Darshanacharya (MPhil) and Doctoral program:
1) In order to be admitted to MPhil and Doctoral program (Ph.D.), the applicants have to take an entrance test conducted by the Dean's Office. Out of the candidates who have passed the entrance examination, only qualified candidates will be allowed to be admitted.
2) In this program, if you want to apply in a subject other than the subject studied at the postgraduate level, you can apply only in the subjects specified by the Dean's Office as per the suggestion of the concerned Central Department and Departments. The subject applied for cannot be changed.
3) If the number of researchers to be enrolled in any subject is less than 5, enrollment in a similar subject will be allowed.
4) From among the researchers who have passed the first and second semester of MPhil in this program and for admission in the doctoral program, only a maximum of 5 students in each subject will be selected for admission in the third semester on the basis of merit. The rest of the researchers have to complete the MPhil level by writing a dissertation in the third semester.
5) The written entrance exam will focus on 3 subjects/areas: thematic knowledge, research method, and academic writing. The entrance exam will be of 3 hours duration. A sample question paper will be posted on the website of this faculty.
6) In the mentioned subjects, the maximum number of subjects will be 35.
7) The applicant can take the application form from the concerned central department and fill the form.
8) The applicant has to pay an entrance examination fee of Rs. 5,000 has to be submitted to the concerned department.
9) The departments have to submit the examination fee along with the application form of the applicants to the Dean's Office. Tickets will be distributed by the concerned department.
10) Applicants wishing to be admitted for Ph.D. after obtaining an MPhil degree can submit an application form to the Dean's Office.
