Nepal Open University, Faculty of Management and Law, Office of the Dean, Manbhawan, Lalitpur Invitation for Application to Pursue PhD in Management/ Development Management and Governance
Nepal Open University (NOU), Faculty of Management and Law (FOML) invites applications from eligible candidates to pursue a Ph.D. degree in the areas of management, development, and governance.
a) Eligibility for Ph.D. in Management: MPhil degree with at least 3.3 CGPA in the related fields of management (viz. management, business, and commerce) from recognized universities along with five years of teaching or other relevant professional experience
b) Eligibility for Ph.D. in Development Management and Governance: MPhil degree with at least 3.3 CGPA in the related fields of Development and Governance (viz. public administration, governance, economics, and rural development) from recognized universities along with five years of teaching or other relevant professional experience.
I. Candidates applying for Ph.D. admission are required to submit the following documents:
a. Filled up the online form (Please go to Entrance at the Student Panel at www.nou.edu.np/)
b. Academic testimonials from the SLC/SEE up to the Master's and MPhil levels
c. Proposed Research Intention/ Issue (1,000 words, handwritten), which must include:
- Area of the proposed research/ topic
- Research issues
- Rationale/ practical justification of the proposed research
- Preliminary pathway/approach for conducting the proposed study
d. Proof of professional/ work experience
2. The selection process shall be as follows:
a. Performance achievement in MPhil levels
b. Performance in the entrance test (Verbal Ability, General Awareness, and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, and Research Methodology)
c. Proposed Research Intention/ Issue
e. Interview/ Defence of Proposed Research Intention/ Issue
3. Deadline: 27 Magh 2079 BS (10 February 2023) Friday
4. Date of Ph.D. admission test:13 Falgun 2079 BS (25 February 2023) Saturday
4. The FOML Research Committee shall be the authority to make the final decision on the candidate's eligibility for the PhD admission at NOU.
5. Application Fee: Rs. 5,000/- (Five thousand rupees only) to be deposited to Global IME Bank, Kirtipur branch (A/c No. 0501010000502; A/C Name: Nepal Khulla Vishwovidhyalaya)
Note: Selected PhD candidates shall work under the designated supervisor(s) through the face-to-face (in-person) and/or other supplementary modes.
