Learning Disabilities

Man is the combined form of mind and body. So people's diseases can be physical or mental. But most diseases are caused by psychological causes. Some of these diseases appear in old age, while some appear in young age. Diseases that appear in childhood are also abundant. Some of these diseases are caused by humans. One such mental illness is Learning Disorders, which is a problem that comes to light when children begin reading and writing.

However, due to the lack of health and education, the psychological problems of the children are completely ignored in Nepal and with the exception of a few, no diagnosis and treatment can be sought. And, such students are often referred to by the nickname of 'weak, dumb and dumb.' Such behavior of teachers, classmates, parents, and relatives also adds to the psychological problems of such children.

What is a Learning Disorder?

According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-Four-TR), a child's ability to read, solve math, and write if he or she is less than the intelligence and educational level of a child of that age group is called learning disorder. This problem has a direct impact on the child's academic achievement as well as on daily activities related to writing, reading and mathematical problem-solving.

But learning disorders that arise from sensory deficits (eg, ear and eye problems) are not covered by learning disorders. If a child with a learning disorder has other problems such as sensory deficits, then the problem should be even more serious. Learning disorders were formerly referred to as Academic Skills Disorders. This disease is a major form of learning disability.

It is estimated that between five and 10 percent of school children in Nepal suffer from this disorder. Therefore, at least 50 to 100 students in a secondary school with a thousand students are likely to suffer from learning disorders. This disorder is also one of the reasons many students fail the SLC exam.

Buddibal is an 18-year-old man. He was very weak in his studies from an early age. She had absolutely no interest in writing. His letters and writings were also bad and dirty. He eventually passed eight classes. But he left school while studying in grade nine. For the past four years, she has lived in a house in the lower house. Spend the day watching TV and listening to music. He doesn't even play or walk around with friends.

On the advice of a friend, his father even admitted him to take the Open School exam, but he did not give the exam. His parents, who were obsessed with his son's behavior, took him to a psychologist for counseling a few months back. She suffered from a learning disorder from a psychological test and came to open her studies.

Lack of intellectual appearance in mental retardation (mental impairment) affects the entire cognitive process of children, whereas learning · disorder causes difficulties in a particular skill or ability. For example, if a child seems to be quite adept at solving math problems and learning music, he may have difficulty reading a book.

Similarly, a girl can read and write fluently well, but she may have a lot of difficulties solving math questions. Therefore, children are more likely to achieve low achievement in one area, but in other areas, if the average or notable achievement is achieved, such children are more likely to have a learning disorder.

The Impact of Learning Disorders

Learning disorders can make children's reading aloud and cause the following side effects. Lack of confidence. Reduction in social efficiency. Leave school About 5 percent of children who suffer from this problem drop out of education, just as they do with intellect.

Difficulty in employment and social life. Young people suffering from this problem face major difficulties in employment and social participation. Causing anxiety and depression problems. Falling light, thinking of yourself as a fool.

The type of learning disorder

There are many different types of learning disorders. But DSM-Four-TR has classified the learning disorder into four categories. They are:

Reading Disorders:

In general, reading difficulties are called reading disorders. But DSM-Four-TR has given its official definition. According to the DSM, the ability to read (read at a pure and appropriate pace) is considered to be much less than the children of the same age group.

And, such problems may have influenced the children's educational achievements and daily activities related to reading. An example of a reading disorder is dyslexia. Mathematics disorders and writing disorders may also appear with this problem.

In fact, it is rare to see any of the math problems or writing problems along with this problem. Four out of five patients with learning disorders suffer from this problem. Hindi movie stars can be seen on the ground for information on what kind of dyslexic children are.

Mathematics disorder:

The ability to solve mathematics in children is less than that of children of the same age group, it is called Mathematics Disorder. And, such problems may also affect the child's educational achievement and accountability. This problem is often accompanied by a reading disorder and a writing disorder. This problem is called 'dyscalculia' in the medical language.

Memory was very weak in mathematics from an early age. The teacher and her parents gradually (as she got older) predicted that she would improve in mathematics. She had been teaching at home to improve her mathematics but failed to score very low marks in memory mathematics in all three classes, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly.

A memory mathematics teacher called her father and recommended her for a psychological test. A learning neurological psychologist had a learning disorder test at a psychiatric care center. But the IQ of memory came 112.

Similarly, a girl can read and write fluently well, but she may have a lot of difficulties solving math questions. Therefore, children are more likely to achieve low achievement in one area, but in other areas, if the average or notable achievement is achieved, such children are more likely to have a learning disorder.

It appears that memory is a superior IQ student. But his math achievement test scores were far lower. Due to this significant difference between IQ and math achievement test scores, the neuroscientists concluded that memory dyscalculia suffered from mathematics learning disorders.

Writing Disorders:

Children who suffer from this problem often make a lot of mistakes in pure writing when writing. Spelling and sorting etc. Very ugly and bad writing. This problem is called 'dysgraphia' in the medical language.

Other learning disorders (other learning disorders):

This includes distortions in the above three classes. However, this category does not include medical education problems.

Causes of Learning Disorders:

There are various causes of learning disorders. But the main reason for this is organic. Although biological learning can lead to learning disorders, psychological causes make it a complex mental illness. Learning disorders also occur in 70 percent of children with ADHD.

Most children with learning disorders experience anxiety and depression and, as a result, feel deaf and disabled. Usually, there is no difference between children with this problem and normal children, this problem cannot be identified by looking at the children.

Treatment of Learning Disorders:

A learning disorder is not treated with medication. But learning disorders are also seen along with ADHD, while the drug given to such children is Ritalin Methylphenidate. However, psychotherapy and psychological education can be very useful for such problems.

For example, flashcards, word books, and computer games are considered effective for children suffering from Mathematics Disorders. Similarly, such children are asked to solve problem-solving problems by not just counting.

Children with Reading Disorders problems like reading instruction programs like Orton Gillingham & Distar Technique, Merrill Program, and SRA Reading Program are considered useful. In addition, psychotherapists such as Behavior Rapi, Cognitive Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy can improve the educational level of children suffering from such disorders.

In the end, if children are too weak to read. Particularly in terms of reading, writing and math solving, other children are more likely to suffer from learning disorders. Therefore, it is advisable to contact a psychologist or psychiatrist at the right time to seek a proper diagnosis. Fortunately, most of these psychological problems that can be seen in children can be solved. Such children do not have to be destined to be like wit, provided effective treatment is provided at the outset.
