BBA in Nepal - Scopes, Opportunity and Reality

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) educational program under the Faculty of Management at the undergraduate level has become a vibrant option for students who have graduated from Grade 12 in the management group. The BBA program, which launched in Nepal two decades ago, still has the same fascination.

Former Head of Tribhuvan University Management Faculty Prof. Bhojraj Aryal said that this course is popular all over the world, with limited students being taught and even good results. He said that this program has attracted students not only from Nepal but also from international educational institutions.

In terms of numbers, most graduate students in the graduate-level management education BBS are enrolled. He said that even if the students of BBS are not weak, passing a level will result in differences between BBA and BBS students. 'BBS is Mass Education; many have the opportunity to enroll; BBA is selected and taught in limited,' Prof. Aryal says, "Due to the limited number of practical exercises in the student body, going to the field and even the teacher can concentrate, communication has a different capability than the BBS."

Because of the practical knowledge and skills required to work in a financial institution, BBBA has become attractive worldwide. In Nepal, financial institutions are growing and the success of the manpower is contributing. BBS work areas develop practical, managerial, communication, skills, and decision-making capabilities.

Even with the popularity of the BBA program in Nepal, there is an increasing number of educational institutions and students studying BBA. BBA programs have been launched in Nepal even in relation to foreign universities, as only the Nepal’s-affiliated college of Nepali University could not meet the demands of the students and the market.

Most of the universities in Nepal, which are taught by the management faculty, have run BBA programs. Kathmandu, Tribhuvan, Pokhara, Eastern, and Midwestern University have run BBA programs. Pokhara and Purbanchal University are the most affiliated.

In Nepal, the university has introduced new programs to prepare the manpower needed in the field of management. Yet, credibility has not diminished. Experts say the BBA course is popular because of its employment and professionalism. Since this course will provide the experimental education required in the market, there is no problem with manpower consumption.

Practical assessment

Experts say that there is practicality in evaluating a student studying BBA. It is also practical to evaluate student achievement. Internally rated at 40 percent and university or board at 60 percent. It is encouraging to study in a semester system, accurate assessment of students, and even good results. Colleges say that limited student quotas will be effective and easy to study, teach, and even evaluate. Because of this, BBA is producing manpower with reliable and effective managerial capabilities for the market.

From Government to Private Attractions:

There is a constant attraction of students from the government to private colleges offering practical education. Student attraction is more at TU-affiliated Campus such as Shanker Dev Campus and Nepal Commerce Campus. The teacher said that the quality of education is available at a low cost.

Easiness:

Students studying BBA do not have to be distracted even when going to work. Shanker Dev Campus Chief Krishna Prasad Acharya said that there is no need to be distracted while going to work as there is a lot of internships and experimental work. He said that the practice of doing the semester from the first semester to last semester will increase the level of 'Confidence' in them. He said the field report, internals, as well as the BBA student's results and performance, were good.

Since they have practical knowledge in the course of their studies, some have even gotten jobs since then because of the internship arrangements. The manpower passed by BBA provides employment opportunities both within the country and abroad. Some students have found employment in large corporate institutions abroad after completing their studies.

History of BBA in Nepal

Two decades ago, in 1997, the University of Kathmandu launched the BBA program in Nepal for the first time. The program is currently operating in Tribhuvan, Kathmandu, Purbanchal, Pokhara, and Midwest University. Pokhara University started this program two years after Kathmandu University started its BBA. Similarly, Tribhuvan University started the program in 2002.

24 BBA Colleges affiliated with Foreign Universities

With regard to indigenous and foreign universities, dozens of campuses are currently running BBA programs in the Capital. According to the data of the Ministry of Education, 24 Colleges in Nepal have affiliated with foreign universities and have launched the BBA program. Nepali University has a four-year program in the BBA Semester system. However, some foreign universities have four years and some three years.

Good opportunities in financial institutions

BBA manpower has the opportunity to be employed in financial institutions at home and abroad. BBA will get the opportunity in institutions requiring manpower with management education. Professional corporate organizations like banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, and tourism companies are also gaining an opportunity for passing Bibi. Similarly, BBA is getting employment in areas like corporate houses, industries, NGOs, INGOs, and service industries.

Fee according to the institution

For the BBA study, the fee is determined according to the institution. Fees vary on the university's campus. Shanker Deva Campus charges around four lakhs. There is a charge of Rs 3 lakh on the Saraswati campus. Fees vary at private educational institutions. The fees associated with the affiliated organization operating the TU affiliated program are comparatively expensive. Some colleges have charged up to eight lakh rupees.
