IELTS for Study Abroad

All the great and meritorious students who are studying; have a wish to go abroad. Many people make special preparations for this. In this way, we are sharing you that developed countries like England, Canada, Australia, and America have fixed their ability to pass IELTS exams for the candidates who wish to work and study. What is IELTS?

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the name of such examination, in which English-speaking countries test the English knowledge of candidates working and studying.

Five questions are special

Who takes an IELTS test?

The IELTS exam is shared by the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL), British Council and IDP. It is considered the highest standard of English language in the world.

 Where is the IELTS recognized?

IELTS recognizes universities and job-giving organizations of countries like Australia, America, Canada, New Zealand, and England. Apart from this, all government institutions and non-resident institutions also recognize this.

Where can an IELTS test?

Today there are more than 1100 examination centers of IELTS around the world. Most of these British Councils are run by many universities and linguistic schools including IELTS Australia. For specific information visit www.ielts.org

Test format:

There are 4 sub-tests or modules: Reading, writing, listening and speaking. It is compulsory for students to sit in all the examinations. All students have to sit in the same listening and speaking test, while they have to give different tests to read and write. It depends on the academic or general training module they choose.

At the time of the exam, all the sub-sections and the time fixed for them

Listening - 4 sections - 40 items - 30 minutes’ duration

General Training Reading - 3 sections - 40 items - 60 minutes Duration

Academic studies - 3 sections - 40 items - 60 minutes Duration

Typing General Training - 2 Tasks (150 to 250 words) 60 minutes Duration

Academic Writing- 2 Tasks (150 to 250 words) 60 minutes Duration

Speaking- 11 to 14 minutes

Total time 2 hours 45 minutes

IELTS Listening test - This test lasted for half an hour. There are 4 sections, which are run on the cassette tape. It is both monologue and dialogue. It only runs once and all questions are answered during listening. However, additional time is given to answer.

IELTS Reading test - This test lasted for 1 hour. Candidates have to give an academic reading test or general training reading test. Tests are held in three sections. In this, the level of difficulty is in increasing order.

IELTS Writing Test - This test also lasted for 1 hour. In this also, candidates have to go through the academic or general training module. In this, students have to write in two different styles. It does not have any choice.

IELTS Speaking test - There is a single interview of the candidate. This interview is also recorded. It happens in three parts. Introduce yourself and interview - Candidates will have to speak 1 to 2 minutes on any given topic. Then a dialogue or dialogue that runs from either side. This interview runs for 10 to 15 minutes.
