Mangal Prasad Model Secondary School is established at 1985 BS to literate the local children around the school. Great social worker and teacher Mangal Prasad Shastri has provided the land and himself worked as a teacher for many years to build institution. The school is located near the Ranitalau and contains the land area of about 4.5 bighas. One of the famous cricket ground in Nepal is also conducted by the school on its land. The school is now at the pinacle of quality education in the city and still empowering its staff to rectify the their qualities. According to school principal Sushil Kumar Verma the school embraces democratic process to work together and and convert all effort into the desired result. The school conducts science ,management, education and law. In addition to above mentioned subjects the school conducts hotel management and computer science. Hundreds of students participate in different scholarship programs conducted by school. Another important part of students is dozens of students get free scholarship at entrance exams conducted by MoE ,IOM and other institutions which increase the credit of school. In this year school is selected as a Model school by our government.
