Overview

BSc (Hons) Computing has been designed to provide students seeking to embark on a computing career with particular emphasis on the following roles:- 

  • software developers or engineers,
  • web developers,
  • database developers or administrators and
  • network architects and technicians.

On completion of BSc (Hons) Computing students may also proceed to a postgraduate course in a related subject area. The British College has a number of industry links through which students can obtain placement opportunities. Alternately, our students will be fully equipped to create their own IT start-up company as well.

Entry Requirements

Foundation Entry

  • 10+2/CBSE or equivalent 55% and above aggregate score
  • A Level - Minimum 3.5 credits with 3 full credits

University Entry

  • Overall 75% & above with a minimum of 70% in English or IELTS score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band.

New Course:

The degree programme is comprised of a one year Foundation Year provided by The British College followed by a three-year degree validated by Leeds Beckett University.

What is Year 0 or Level 3?

Year 0 in The British College is a Foundation Year (Certificate to be awarded by The British College) that is designed to help students progress into BSc (Hons) Computing degree. The aim of this year is to: assist students to adapt to the UK style of learning, improve students' English ability, and introduce the necessary skills required for higher education.

Year 0 or Level 3 consists of 8 modules.

After completing Level 5, students will take part in our IMP (International Mobility Programme) in either London, Dubai, or Singapore. The tuition fee includes international flights, accommodation, and breakfast.

In Year 3 or Level 6, all students take the Production Project, with optional modules that allow students to specialize in a chosen potential career subject area.  In semester two, students continue with the level 6 Production Project with a number of optional modules.  The Production Project encompasses research, planning, and the production of a product followed by a critical evaluation.
