Ninth National Summit of Health and Population Scientists in Nepal

Ninth National Summit of Health and Population Scientists in Nepal: Translating Evidence and Innovation into Actions

The Nepal Health and Research Council (NHRC) is an organization that promotes research culture by facilitating communication between researchers and policymakers to translate evidence into health policies, programmes, and practices. In line with this, the Ninth National Summit is set to take place from April 10 to 12, 2023, and is one of the most comprehensive summits of 2023.

With the emergence of global environmental change, including climate change, demographic change, urbanization, and other emerging health issues such as non-communicable diseases, the COVID-19 pandemic, and frequent outbreaks of diseases such as cholera, dengue, and measles, generating contextually tailored evidence through high-quality research for health and their use in decision-making has become critical. The Ninth National Summit is themed "Research for Health: Translating Evidence and Innovation into Actions," and aims to strengthen health systems resilience to tackle future pandemics, shocks, and stressors to the system.

The summit will bring together researchers, academicians, scientists, practitioners, and policymakers to exchange ideas and health research evidence on national health issues and priorities focusing on the translation of evidence and innovations into actions. Thematic areas (Sub-themes) for the summit include Health System and Policy, Public (Population) Health, Public Health Emergencies, Biomedical and Translational Research, Networking, Collaboration and Partnership in Research for Health, and Environmental Health and Climate Change.
