The second edition of the Himalayan Science Festival will be held in Nepalgunj in the second week of February 2023. The Himalayan Science Foundation has informed that preparations are being made to hold a festival in Nepalgunj on February 14 and 15, 2023.
The series of Science Festival, which started by organizing the first edition in January 2019, was stopped for a few years due to the Corona epidemic, but it is going to be resumed this year, informed the president of the foundation, Tanik Basnet.
He said that the festival is going to be held as a campaign to contribute to nation-building through the development of science and technology. According to Basnet, students from all government and private schools from classes 8 to 12 will display their science and technology-related art at the festival.
The festival, which is going to be held with the support of Walabiz Educational Services, is a collaboration of Nepalgunj Sub Metropolitan Municipality, PABSON Nepalgunj, and Science Teacher Association of Nepal (STAN). Basnet, the president of the foundation expressed his sorrow that the subject of science and technology, which has always been neglected by the state, has never become a topic of social debate.
He said that they decided to organize a science and technology festival to give a chance to the scientific talents in the country to flourish. The organizers will have about 50 stalls at the festival.
