World Environment Day

On 5 June 2022, Sunday, World Environment Day is being celebrated with various programs. On the occasion of the day, organizations working in the field of environment are conducting various awareness programs.

Every year since 1974, June 5 has been celebrated as World Environment Day by the United Nations Environment Program. This year, the day is being celebrated with the international slogan 'Only One Earth' and the theme 'Sustainable Life in Nature'.

World Environment Day is being celebrated in Nepal by organizing various programs under the national slogan 'Sustainable Nature-Friendly Living: Conservation of the Earth'.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba expressed his best wishes to all the individuals, organizations and development partners involved in the work of environmental protection and called upon all to contribute to the campaign from their own place.

He noted that the revival of the slogan "Only One Earth" from the Stockholm Conference on Environmental Protection, 1972, after 50 years, has further highlighted the characteristics of Earth, the only habitable planet in the universe, and the need to improve existing human activities to protect it.

Prime Minister Deuba said that this day would be an inspiration to protect the earth as the sole basis of existence for all by adopting environment-friendly behavior and conduct in line with the motto of this year's World Environment Day.

Celebrating World Environment Day also means planning for action. Don't just make it a topic of conversation.
