PSC Interview Notice for Candidate
The Public Service Commission (PSC) had published Advertisement No. 17187/081-82 (Women), Nepal Engineering Service, Survey Group, Gazetted Second Class (Technical), Deputy Secretary or equivalent post. Candidate Jyoti Dhakal (Roll No. 870017) was selected for the interview through the written examination.
However, during verification, the candidate’s academic qualification did not match the academic requirement mentioned in the advertisement and the qualification specified in Schedule 3 of the Nepal Engineering Service (Formation, Group, and Class Division and Appointment) Rules, 2051. Therefore, the Commission, by its decision dated 2082/03/06, canceled her application form and written examination and removed her name from the interview list.
Against this decision, candidate Jyoti Dhakal (Roll No. 870017) filed Writ Petition No. 081-WO-1477 at the Honorable Supreme Court. On 2082/03/31, the Honorable Supreme Court issued an order of certiorari (mandamus), declaring that the Commission’s action of removing the candidate’s name from the interview list was invalid. The Court held that candidate Jyoti Dhakal met the required qualification and directed the Commission to include her name in the interview list, complete legal procedures, publish the notice with her name, and conduct the interview accordingly.
