Overview
Bhumlu Rural Municipality (भुम्लु गाउँपालिका, काभ्रेपलाञ्चोक) has been established in the course of local level restructuring by merging the former Saping, Simthali, Bekhsimle, Chauwas, Sallebhumlu, Kolanti Bhumlu, Phalate, Bhumlutar, Dolalghat and Jamdi (formerly Wards 5, 7, 8 and 9). At present, there are 10 wards in this rural municipality. It has a population of 18,916 and an area of 91 square kilometers. The Bhumlu is bounded on the east by Chauri Deurali Rural Municipality, on the west by Mandan Deupur Municipality and Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality of Sindhupalchok District, on the north by Sunkoshi Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchowk and on the south by Panchkhal Municipality.
The Bhumlu Municipality is rich in natural resources and has a hardworking community. Surrounded by rivers like Sunkoshi and Indravati, Bhumlu has small streams and abundant forests.
There is a spirit of cordiality and cooperation among the people in this village municipality which is inhabited by Brahmin, Chhetri and Dasnami communities, Tamang, Pahari, Dalit, Majhi, Newar and other communities.
The main occupation of the people of this rural municipality is agriculture. Farmers based on traditional agricultural systems are the basis of it. Trade, business, employment, and foreign employment are also helpful sources of livelihood. Dolalghat Bazaar is the largest market area of the village municipality. Apart from this, there are small markets in Bhumlutar, Salle, and Chaubas. Bhimsen place and Ganesh temple in Mulkharka of ward no. 1 are the famous religious places of this region. Dulaleshwar Mahadev's temple, other monasteries, and temples located at the confluence of Sunkoshi and Indrawati in ward no. There is a need to make maximum use of such tourist and religious sites in the development of the village municipality.
