Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) Jumla has completed preparations for MBBS. Necessary rooms, laboratory and hostel have been arranged for this and classes will be conducted from the 19th of Mangsir.

The study of MBBS is about to start for the first time in Karnali. The institute has stated that the students who have passed the integrated examination conducted by the Medical Education Commission have already been admitted for the study. Dr. Ramesh Bhattarai, Dean of the Foundation, informed that the students will study by paying 15 full scholarships and fees.

KAHS has also opened a 300-bed hospital. The hospital has a 10-bed intensive care unit (ICU) and a four-bed operating room.

There are 82 thematic doctors in the academy for teaching medical education. The institute has been teaching Pharmacy (B Pharmacy) at the undergraduate level and Nursing (BDS) at the same level since this year. 20-20 students will study in both the subjects.

MD has been teaching at the institute for one year. Similarly, Bachelor Public Health (BPH), undergraduate level maternity classes have been started for three years. It is stated that 20/20 students are studying in those subjects. The government established KAHS in 2068 BS with the objective of providing medical education and health services in remote areas of Karnali.
