List of Upcoming IPO in Nepal: About Rs. 6 billion worth of IPOs (Initial Public Offering) of 17 companies are in the pipeline. Awaiting approval from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), 17 companies are awaiting permission to issue 59.6 million shares worth Rs 5.96 billion.
Out of which, 13 companies have the highest number of hydropower companies, out of which Madhya Bhotekoshi Hydropower Company has been postponed due to Covid-19. 3 finance companies and 1 other company are waiting for permission. A total of 54.5 million units of shares of 13 companies under the Hydropower Company are awaiting issuance.
Similarly, three companies of finance are in the process of issuing 2.76 million units of shares. Under 'Others', 2.385 million unit shares of DisHome Media Network are awaiting issuance.
Although 15 million shares of Madhyabhotekoshi Hydropower Company, the largest of the hydropower companies, have been approved by the board, it has been postponed due to the risk of coronavirus infection. Sahas Urja Hydropower, Sayapatri Hydropower, Upper Solu Hydro Electricity Company, Manushi Laghubitta, and Dordi Khola are in the process of process.
Similarly, Mailung Khola Hydropower Company, Nyadi Hydropower, Bindhyabasini Hydropower Development Company, Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta, and Samling Power Company are in the reply and under review.
SEBON has said that it will not issue a call for the sale of shares of any company during the period of prohibitory orders. Board Chairman Bhishma Raj Dhungana said that IPOs of some companies would be issued immediately after the end of prohibitory orders. He said, "We have not applied to any of the companies at the moment. As some companies have to be stopped, no company has gone to SEBON for permission and has not been approved by SEBON."
