Melamchi Water Distribution Schedule in Kathmandu Valley: The government has started distributing Melamchi water in the Kathmandu Valley through temporary structures from the headworks of Melamchi damaged by the floods and landslides. Minister for Water Supply Umakanta Chaudhary inaugurated the Melamchi water redistribution program on Sunday.
Minister Chaudhary said that due to the tireless efforts of the government, the water of Melamchi could be brought back to the doorsteps of the people of the valley from the headworks of Melamchi damaged by the floods and landslides.
"We have brought the Melamchi water valley by temporarily preparing the damaged Melamchi structure as per the instructions of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuwaju," he said.
Melamchi Water Distribution Schedule:
Melamchi from Mahankalchaur Panipokhari will be distributed twice a day from Baishakh 11: Water will be distributed in Devkota Road, Battisputli, Jai Bageshwari, Chavahil, Siphal, Maligaun, Bishalnagar, Naxal, Maitidevi, Ghattekulo, Dilli Bazaar, Charkhal, Kamaladi, Bagbazar, Inbahal, Jyatha, Bhotahiti, Kamalakshi, Baneshwar, Sinamangal, Milanchok, Tripureshwor Area and New Road.
Water will be distributed from Min Bhawan overhead drinking water tank from Baishakh 11: water will be distributed in Madhyabaneshwar, Milanchowk, Thapagaun, Baneshwar Heights, Subidhanagar, Sahayoginagar, areas of HAMS Hospital, Shantinagar, Gahrigaon, International Conference Center (ICC), Shankhamul, Kuria Gaun, Srinagar, Prayag Marg, and Napi Heights.
Water distribution from Anamnagar overhead tank has also started from Baishakh 11. Under this, Melamchi water will be distributed daily in Anamnagar, Ghattekulo, Bijulibazar, and Maitighar areas. Similarly, Melamchi water will be distributed in Lagan, Dalakshi, Nayapacho, New Road, Tripureshwor area after one day.
Drinking water has also been distributed from Khumaltar Overhead from Baishakh 11: Under this, water will be distributed in Dhobighat, Alka Hospital, Chapagaundobato, Lagankhel, Prayagpokhari, Kupondol, Jamsikhel, Saraswati Mandir Chowk, Mahalakshmisthan, Satdobato and Man Bhawan areas.
The schedule for the distribution of water from Maharajgunj Panipokhara from Baishakh 12: Water will be provided from Maharajgunj Distribution Center to Samakhusi, Dakshikali Temple, Ranidevi School, Lazimpat, Gaurighat, Naniganj, Maharajgunj Local Pump Bazaar Area, Baluwatar area after one day.
Melamchi water from Basbari Panipokhari from Baishakh 12: Nardevi, Raktakali, Kshetrapati, Galkopakha, Sundhara, Pipalbot, Kaldhara, Dhauvichaur, Maharajgunj Bazaar, Bhagwanwal, Pushpanjali Marg, Manohara Line, Kapurdhara, Gogambu Plotting, Shitalniwas, Baluwatar area. Will be distributed.
Water will also be made available from Balaju Panipokhari from Baishakh 12: Melamchi water will be distributed to different areas from this pond only from April 25. Water will be distributed in Balaju, Nayabazar, Banasthali, Swayambhu, Dallu, Chhauni and Bafal areas.
Melamchi water will be distributed from the water tank of Kirtipur from Baishakh 13: According to KUKL, water will be distributed in Devdhoka, Kwancho, Chilancho, Jankha, Bhajangal, Gamcha, and Chobhar areas after one day. This line customer will get water in one day.
KUKL has stated that it will also provide daily Melamchi water from Tigni Tanki from Baishakh 13. Under this, daily water will be distributed in Sintitar, Bode, Mill Road, Bhulakhel, Sundernagar and Korean Hospital area.
Melamchi water from Bhaktapur Katunje tank will be distributed only from Baishakh 15. It has made public the schedule of daily water distribution in Sirjanagar, Chundevi, Sallaghari, Binayak, Itache, Varvacho, Kwache, Kalika Mandir, Mangalache, Vanshagapal, Gahiti Bazaar, Suryabinayak and Gapalichok areas.
KUKL has stated that the time of water distribution may be changed depending on the availability of water.
