National Innovation Center and Gandaki University Signed for Collaboration

An agreement has been reached with the National Innovation Center to exchange support for the operation of innovation established by Gandaki University. The agreement was signed by the Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Ganeshman Gurung and the Chairman of the Center Mahavir Pun.

On the occasion, Pun said that he was ready to work at the Innovation Center of Gandaki University 5-6 days a month. He suggested setting aside 1 percent of his budget for research. "Other countries allocate 3-4 percent of GDP, with Israel contributing the most at 5 percent. South Korea and Israel compete," he said. He also suggested that the innovation center should be open 24 hours a day and that people from outside the university should also have access to it.

Dr. Kailash Timilsina, Registrar of the University, informed that the building has been inaugurated as the first of its kind in the physical infrastructure of the University. "It has been completed before the study building," he said, adding that "this confirms how focused the university is on research."

Registrar Timilsina said that 6-7 different products will be coming from Gandaki University's Innovation Center soon. According to him, the innovation center will produce electric stoves, smokeless cardamom drying equipment, hybrid hatching machines for poultry farming, rice threshing machines, millet threshing machines, and threshing machines. He also said that the report sent to the laboratory during the branding of Kodo liquor is coming soon. "The university is working to stop the brain drain and gain brain," he said.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Ganeshman Gurung said that the road to Gandaki University has been paved since the Innovation Center. Vice-Chancellor Prada Nawaraj Devkota informed that the university is moving forward by mobilizing various support. He also said that the university has been promoted as a teaching and research center.
