Press Release from Social Studies and Research Society Nepal (SOSON):
Completing the process of curriculum development in accordance with the national objectives of education, international practice and experience, current needs of the nation, and prevailing laws and policies, the national curriculum format of the country's education was formulated in 2076 BS. Implemented from 2077.
A meeting of the Curriculum Development and Evaluation Council held on 15th Magh 2077 BS decided to add the word 'or' in view of the fact that social studies and life-sustaining education have been implemented as a new subject in classes 11 and 12 in a single path structure from class 11 to class 12. Due to this, we have drawn the serious attention of the professors and teachers of social studies and the overall professionals in this field. It has been felt everywhere that the entire education sector has been confused and the essence and values of the essential subject have been confused due to the decision taken without considering the issues that have been decided to keep in view the understanding of the Vedic class, the needs of the learners and the future of the nation.
The SOSON strongly demands the concerned bodies to rectify the decision immediately and implement it in the same manner as before.
