Rajarshi Janak University: An Unstable Institution in Need of Urgent Attention
Introduction: Rajarshi Janak University, a federal government-owned institution, was established to provide quality education in various fields. However, the university is facing numerous challenges that have affected its reputation, including the lack of physical infrastructure, officer disputes, and government indifference. Lack of Physical Infrastructure:
One of the major issues faced by Rajarshi Janak University is the lack of physical infrastructure. The university is currently operating from a rented building, which costs approximately 50 lakhs annually. Despite provisions in the Act, the government has not made proper arrangements for the transfer of property. As a result, the university is losing credibility and facing difficulties in conducting educational activities.
Officer Disputes: Rajarshi Janak University is also facing problems due to officer disputes. The university has been vacant for almost a year, including the position of Vice-Chancellor. The lack of officials has resulted in a standstill in administrative and educational activities. The university has been running on austerity for a long time without a Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and Dean, causing chaos in the institution.
Government Indifference:
The government's indifference towards Rajarshi Janak University is another major challenge the institution is facing. The government has not shown any interest in appointing officials to the university, resulting in a shortage of staff. The university has about 300 students, and without proper officials, the educational and administrative activities of the university have come to a standstill.
Recruitment Process:
Due to the lack of officials, there have been additional problems in the recruitment process of permanent teachers and staff, acquisition of land, and new programs. Although the syllabus of some programs has been prepared, decisions have not been made due to the absence of the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar.
Overall Rajarshi Janak University is an institution that urgently requires attention from the government. The lack of physical infrastructure, officer disputes, and government indifference have caused significant problems in the institution. It is essential to appoint officials and provide the necessary resources to revive the university's reputation and provide quality education to the students. The government must take immediate action to save the university and provide the necessary support to help it function efficiently.
