The SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Gandaki recently concluded its Annual Educational Prize Distribution Program with great success. The event was held amidst a special ceremony within the school premises, graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Krishnachandra Devkota, Vice President of the Policy and Planning Commission of Gandaki Province.

A Memorable Ceremony Celebrating Education

The ceremony commenced with the tradition of placing flowers on the photograph of Harman Minor, the founder of SOS. Birsingh Budha, the co-principal of the school, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests, parents, and students. In his speech, he emphasized the school's core policies, principles, and objectives, which are rooted in its operation under the Public Guthi.

Recognizing Excellence in Education

The highlight of the event was the distribution of awards to students who excelled academically during the 2079 academic session. Awards were given to students from each class, acknowledging their outstanding achievements. Dr. Krishna Chandra Devkota, Project Director of SOS Balagram Gandaki, Pradip Bhakta Acharya, and School Principal Chudamani Subedi jointly presented the awards, reflecting the collaborative effort in acknowledging academic excellence.

Honoring the Legacy of Nagendrakumari-Narayan

During the ceremony, the prestigious 'Nagendrakumari-Narayan Smriti Pratibha Puraskar' was also presented. This award, established by Jaya Baral, a former teacher of SOS Gandaki, serves as a tribute to her late parents. Nasib Poudel from class 6, in the academic session-2079, received a prize of twenty-five thousand rupees, specially awarded to students who demonstrate excellence in classes 3, 4, and 5 of SOS.

Inspired Dedication and Founding Motivation

Baral, the founder and patron of Akshaya Kosh, expressed her inspiration in establishing the award. She was motivated by the experiences gained from collaborating with children for over three decades. Her decision to create this recognition stemmed from the encouragement received throughout her teaching career.

Dr. Krishnachandra Devkota, the esteemed chief guest, addressed the ceremony and emphasized the commitment of the Commission to continue fostering cooperation.
