The Tribhuvan University Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) has decided to conduct all the examinations this year. Covid-19 disrupted the exam calendar and the OCE is preparing to complete all the exams that have been postponed this year.
Controller of Examinations Pushparaj Joshi said that all the examinations that were postponed since last year will be completed this year and the examination calendar will be regularized. "Even if there is a third wave of coronavirus, we conduct the examination by applying health standards," he said. "We will test in full physical presence. Even if that is not possible, we will test online and restore the calendar."
TU's first-year bachelor's degree exams in August last year could not be held due to Covid-19. OCE has started the second year of graduation examination on the 4th of Shrawan and the first year examination on the 10th of Shrawan. After that, OCE is preparing for the first-year examination of law undergraduate level and the second year examination of postgraduate level.
According to the Controller of Examinations, Joshi, the examination of 2077 BS will be completed before Dashain and the examination of 2078 BS will be started after Dashain. After ten years, four years of Bachelor level and first year of Master level examinations will be held, he said. He informed that 250,000 students will participate in the examination before Dashain and around six lakh students will participate in the examination after Dashain.
The OCE is going to designate examination centers to suit the students. Joshi said that the OCE has made arrangements to conduct the examination at the examination center of the student's choice to make it easier for the candidates to go home due to the coronavirus. At the same time, the obligation to come to Kathmandu to take the TU exam has been removed.
Students will be able to go to the examination center that suits them along with the examination form.
