Tribhuvan University – Promotion of Excellence in Higher Education Program Notification regarding submission of applications for Extended Performance-Based Grants

The University Grants Commission, Nepal has launched the Nurturing Excellence in Higher Education Program (NEHEP) with the support of the World Bank during the implementation of the National Higher Education Program (NHEP).

In the program, there are also Extended Performance Based Grants in the various provisions of grant support arranged for the development and expansion of higher education under the Tribhuvan University Specialized Higher Education Promotion Program Implementation Unit.

Grants are provided based on the progress made in the prescribed performance indicators to the selected university campuses for participation in this program. For Extended Performance Based Grants, eligible campuses that have met the criteria mentioned in the list should submit the application along with all the documents prescribed for the Extended Performance Based Grants by emailing [email protected] within the date of 2079-10-12 with a soft copy and physical form at the office of the Secretariat. This notice is published for the information of all concerned to submit.

Minimum standards

1) Letter of Intent approved by University Grants Commission for participation in quality assurance and accreditation process

2) An updated five-year strategic plan was approved by the management committee of the campus

Additional criteria for selection into the program

1) Educational Management Information System Education Management Information System (EMIS) unit has been formed and a focal person has been appointed/designated with responsibility for its management.

2) The annual report of the previous academic year has been published and the same has been uploaded on the campus website

3) The Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) has been duly established and the operating guidelines of the mechanism have been approved by the management committee of the campus.

4) The average pass rate of the last three academic years is above 29 percent marks

5) The management committee of the campus is functioning properly

Out of the above 5 additional qualifications, the campus that fulfills 4 qualifications will be taken to the selection stage. Also, the number of applications received from eligible campuses can be determined based on the budget allocated for this program in the current financial year.
