KMC Notice Inviting Research Proposals

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (Kathmandu Mahanagarpalika), Office of the Municipal Executive, Kathmandu Plaza, Kathmandu, Bagmati Province, Nepal, Urban Planning Commission, Notice on Call for Research Proposals.

With the objective of supporting evidence-based policy formulation for the balanced, integrated, and holistic development of Kathmandu Metropolitan City through policy reforms, and of helping identify urban development–related projects through action research, eligible Nepali researchers who meet the prescribed qualifications are invited to submit research proposals in accordance with the procedure.

Submission Deadline: Within 35 (thirty-five) days from the date this notice is published on the Metropolitan City website.

Metropolitan Research Fellowship 2082

For the “Metropolitan Research Fellowship,” Kathmandu Metropolitan City has invited researchers across 10 subject areas. This year’s study themes have been selected by prioritizing topics such as the relationship between research results and policy decisions, implementation or usability, results based on infrastructure and social development, and need-based projects.

Purpose of the Research

The purpose is to ensure that the evidence obtained from the research helps make the policies, plans, programs, and the budget allocation process formulated by the Metropolitan City for the balanced, integrated, and holistic development of Kathmandu City more evidence- and needs-based.

Priority Themes and Subject Areas

The Metropolitan City has been conducting research through experts who have acquired subject knowledge, experience, and expertise, prioritizing areas including history, art, culture, tradition, language, literature, urban planning, urban design, architecture, transportation, physical infrastructure, demographic studies, sociological studies, and anthropological studies.

Within these prioritized areas, the key research priority themes include:
