National ICT Scholarship

Apply National ICT Scholarship for BSc IT:

Federation of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN Federation) has opened the application for the National ICT Scholarship. Applications are open for this scholarship, which has been provided for two years for technical education.

The CAN Federation will provide these scholarships to poor and deserving students in collaboration with colleges that teach information technology in the country. For which, collaboration has been made with Lord Buddha Education Foundation at Maiti Devi, Kathmandu.

Scholarship Quota:

CAN has stated that partial and full scholarships will be provided to 49 students through the program this year. Students from all the provinces of the country will get equal opportunity in the scholarship program.

Accordingly, one student from each province will be provided full scholarship and the remaining 42 students will be provided a partial scholarship. The program is expected to support the development of information technology in rural areas and its access to all citizens.

Currently, 28 students are studying under this scholarship program. This year, scholarships will be provided to 28 female students from each province at the rate of four in the Female Merit ICT Scholarship, while under the ICT Merit Scholarship, scholarships will be provided to 21 students at the rate of three from each province.

Total Scholarship Amount:

As per the agreement reached between CAN Federation and the college, 49 students will get a total scholarship of Rs. 1,96,42,500.

Scholarship Course:

Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to study B.Sc. (Hons.) in Information Technology (BSc IT) at the undergraduate level at the Lord Buddha Education Foundation affiliated with the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation in Malaysia.

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship:

Those who have studied 10+2 or equivalent with 50 percent marks from an educational institution recognized by the Government of Nepal and have done at least 50 percent marks in Mathematics in class 10 and have completed a Diploma in Computer Engineering from CTEVT can apply for the scholarship. Girl students will be most benefited by this scheme and the reason to do so is to further the educational opportunities of young women of future generations.

Opportunity:

Students who are currently waiting for the Class 12 exam can also apply for the scholarship.

How to Apply:

Students interested in the scholarship must apply by September 25 through the CAN Federation's website and the Lloyd Buddha Education Foundation's website.

Required Documents:

While applying, those who have already passed class 12 will have to submit a copy of the mark sheet of class 10 and 12 and the proof that the remaining students are studying for class 12 examination along with a photo, citizenship or birth certificate and local level recommendation letter.

Scholarship Selection Committee:

The CAN Federation has formed a scholarship selection committee at the central level under the coordination of the outgoing chairman Hemant Kumar Chaurasia with secretaries Shekhar Dulal and Dipendra Kumar Singh.

The objective of the Scholarship:

This scholarship program will help bridge the digital divide and encourage public-private partnerships in this work in the future, and help disadvantaged students build their careers.
