Phaktanglung Rural Municipality in Taplejung is set to provide 100% scholarships to students pursuing higher education. The municipality will offer full scholarships to students within the municipality who have passed the SEE and are pursuing higher education.
According to Rajan Limbu (Mukti), chairperson of the rural municipality, the initiative is to provide 100% scholarships to students within the municipality pursuing higher education. Chairperson Limbu mentioned that scholarships will be provided to students studying in community schools within the municipality and those studying within the district but outside the municipality.
He also stated that technical education students will receive a 50% scholarship. Apart from technical subjects, students pursuing higher education up to the 10+2 level, bachelor's, and master's degrees will be provided with 100% scholarships, according to Chairperson Limbu.
Furthermore, the municipality has set some criteria for receiving the scholarships. The student must be a permanent resident within the municipality and should be studying in a community school or campus. Information Officer Jayaprasad Rijal informed that students falling within the set criteria are invited to apply for scholarships at the municipality.
