Applications Invited for ‘Supravidha Smriti Renewable Energy Award-2083’ for Three Outstanding Institutions

Applications have been invited for the ‘Supravidha Smriti Renewable Energy Award-2083’, established in coordination between the Manjuka Memorial Endowment Fund and the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre. In a notice published on 2083 Bhadra 31, the Centre stated that the award will be presented to three institutions that have demonstrated outstanding work in the promotion of renewable and alternative energy.

Each of the three selected institutions will receive an award of Rs. 50,000 (fifty thousand), along with recognition. Interested and eligible associations and institutions must register their applications with the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre by 2083 Ashwin 29.

Background of the Award

The award was established in memory of Supravidha Subhash Shrestha, son of Lumin Kumar Shrestha and Kamala Shrestha, founding members of the Manjuka Memorial Endowment Fund. He was involved in a road accident on 2073 Ashwin 23 and passed away untimely on Ashwin 29. The award has been presented in his memory to recognize institutions that make a special contribution to improving the livelihoods of local communities through renewable energy.

Under the First Amendment to the Guidelines, 2080, the award amount was increased to Rs. 50,000 for each selected institution.

Institutions Eligible to Apply

  • Governmental, non-governmental, academic, private, and professional associations or institutions registered under the prevailing laws of Nepal and active in the renewable energy sector.

  • Regional and local-level associations, institutions, and private companies working in the renewable energy sector in partnership with the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre.

Note: In the case of non-governmental or business associations and institutions, their registration must have been renewed.

Documents and Details Required with the Application

Institutions must complete the application form as prescribed in Schedule 1, based on an institutional decision, and submit it in a sealed envelope clearly stating their address.

The following details must be attached with the application:

  • Name of the institution, certified copy of the registration certificate, and permanent address.

  • Details of the institution’s current activities, working area, contact person, telephone number, email address, and work experience.

  • Clear details of the institution’s contribution to the promotion and expansion of renewable energy technologies, gender equality, social inclusion, productive use of energy, and climate change mitigation.

The Centre has stated that applications received after the deadline or applications that do not meet the prescribed requirements will not be processed.

From among the applications received, three outstanding institutions will be selected based on the recommendation of the evaluation committee, and the awards will be presented on the occasion of the Centre’s anniversary.

The application form and detailed guidelines related to the award can be obtained from the office of the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre, Tahachal, Kathmandu, or from the Centre’s website at www.aepc.gov.np.
