Shree Amar Singh Model Secondary School was originally opened as Soldier’s Board Vocational Training High School. It later came under the Government of Nepal and received its present institutional name.
The institution developed different academic sections over time. The Braille medium section was established in 1981 A.D., the English medium section in 1985 A.D., and the Plus Two stream in 1999 A.D.
The school was nominated as a Model Secondary School of the Western Development Region in 2061 B.S. It was awarded as the Best Community Higher Secondary School of the Western Development Region in 2062 B.S., 2064 B.S., and 2065 B.S. It was also awarded as the Best Community Secondary School of Nepal in 2063 B.S.
