Google Photos Unlimited Up to 15 GB Free Storage:

Internet giant Google is modifying the unlimited free storage feature in its photo storage app Google Photos. Commenting on the unlimited number and quantity of documents that can be stored, including photos and videos, Google Photos, launched in 2015, will limit the free storage facility to only 15 gigabytes (GB) per Google Account.

Those who want to store more than 15 GB of files in Google Photos will have to pay a fee. Along with this, uploading more photos to Google Photos will also fill the space of Gmail. However, the 15-gigabyte limit will not apply to photos uploaded before June 2021.

But Google's decision to limit storage in the Google Photos app has drawn strong criticism from Google users and Google's rival photo storage companies. Don MacAskill, CEO of photo-sharing app Flickr and his parent company SmugMug, tweeted: "We knew this would happen five years ago. Billions of dollars in losses to capture market share, hinder competition, and ultimately extort money? It's a monopoly. "

Launching its photo storage app in 2015, Google said, "Yes, we are here for the memories of a lifetime."

Google said that high-quality photos and videos can be stored in Google Photos for an unlimited number and quantity for free.

Announcing the removal of unlimited free storage of Google Photos, Google said in a blog post on Wednesday that Google currently has four trillion photos uploaded and 28 billion photos and videos uploaded each week. It claims to have made the last decision to meet the long-term expectations of users.

According to the report, Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos add 4.3 million gigabytes of data every day.

Remember that Google is not the only example of services that have been started to provide a large amount of free cloud storage that have not been sustainable.

Flickr, once owned by Yahoo, announced 1,000 gigabytes of free storage, which lasted until 2018. After that, Flickr users were given the facility to store only 1000 pictures for free.
