Nepal Telecom (NTC) to get Permission for 5G Network Testing:

For the first time in Nepal, the state-owned Nepal Telecom will get permission for 5G testing. The Radio Frequency Determination Committee has decided to start 5G testing through telecom.

The committee has not decided on which frequencies will allow 5G to operate in Nepal. The Telecommunications Authority (NTA) will make the rest of the decision as the committee has given permission to start the test through telecom. The committee has ruled that testing of 5G is necessary, initially, Telecom will get the permission.

The NTA has recommended to the committee to use the frequencies of 700, 800, 900, 1800, 2300, 2600, and 3300, 3300, 3400, 3600, 4700, and 26 GHz bands. The current frequencies will be tested through Technology Neutral.

The NTA has referred to the National Frequency Determination Committee for permission to test 5G by neutralizing the technology at those frequencies. Now NTC will get the frequency depending on the purpose for which it tests the 5G.

Not an upgraded version of the 5G4, it's a unique technology in itself. Depending on the vendor the service provider uses with 5G, which is unique to the industrial revolution, the NTA may make further decisions about the permit.

NTA has also stated that it is studying the high-frequency internet facility and the appropriate frequency for this technology. NTA is studying 5G technology, investment, potential use potential, returns, trade, infrastructure, regulation, etc. through experts. According to the findings of the study, the goal of NTA is to create an environment that can bring Nepal to the world market with the introduction of 5G.

As the government is working on the concept of 'Digital Nepal', 5G technology can be a boon to make it a reality, said Chairman Khanal.

2G, 3G, and 4G technologies are currently in use in Nepal. 4G service providers have invested billions. The government plans to introduce a 5G policy to save that investment as well.

Currently, 5G technology is being developed in the world market. Experts have been saying that there are many benefits to be gained from 'Zero Latency', a high-speed Internet service that will be available after the advent of this technology.
