NTC Offers Pathshala CUG Service for Students, Teachers, Parents, and Employees:

The 'Pathshala CUG Service' distributed by Nepal Telecom can be used by public school employees, parents, and school board members at a discounted rate. The service, which was earlier used for school teachers and students, will also be available to parents and school board members.

NTC had earlier distributed 'Pathshala CUG service' at a concessional rate for the students of public schools across the country and students of class 1 to 12 under the Emergency Education Plan 2077 implemented by the Government of Nepal so that they would not be deprived of education in case of an epidemic.

Under this service, it costs only Rs. 99 per month (excluding government tax and ownership tax) for a client to be affiliated with a public school and join the company's institutional user group. It will also provide unlimited voice service within the closed group. Earlier, five GB of data was available for the use of educational materials on the website of the Education and Human Resource Development Center, but it has been increased to eight GB, said Rajesh Joshi, spokesperson of the telco.

According to him, the facility to send bulk SMS within this group without any additional fee is still there. In addition, 1 GB of data for any purpose at any time, and the facility to send 100 SMS within the group has been added.

How to Participate:

NTC's GSM or CDMA prepaid mobile number is required to join the 'Pathshala CUG SIM' scheme introduced by Telecom. The prepaid SIM card already in use can be added to the plan and those who do not have a prepaid SIM card can get a new prepaid SIM card free of cost.

The school should prepare the details including the mobile numbers and names of all the teachers, students, and parents who are affiliated with the 'Pathshala CUG SIM' in the prescribed format. The details should be paid by contacting the nearest Nepal Telecom office with the recommendation of the local level. After that, the information of Pathshala CUG service will be available through SMS to all the mobile numbers affiliated with the group.

Even after this period, the SIM used for free can be used continuously like other users, said spokesperson Joshi. According to him, Pathshala CUG service can be availed by paying Rs. 99 per member (excluding government tax and ownership tax) at the counter of Nepal Telecom on the recommendation of the school, except for the contingency education plan 2077. It is stated that local level recommendation is not required for the service.
