Quantum Hack International Hackathon Program Concluded:

The Quantum Hack International Hackathon Program was recently organized in Nepal with the objective of helping the students of Computer Engineering and Information Technology of Nepal to showcase their talents through competition.

The webinar program, which was attended by departments of the Institute of Engineering Studies, Pulchowk, explored the use of technology in six different disciplines, including disaster management, modern financial management for all, education, health, and urban population management, environment, and independent thought.

At the event, 250 people from more than 70 groups presented various competitive projects and concepts.

About 2,500 people took part in the event, with Steve Wozniak, co-founder of the world-renowned Apple Company, as the special guest, and Joe Seppi, senior programmer and engineer at IBM, and Denver de Souza, community lead manager at Devfolio, as keynote speakers.

Senior representatives from NASA, Amazon Wave Service, etc. acted as mentors at the event, while experts from various disciplines and experts from Microsoft and various reputed organizations evaluated the proposed project. Media Manager of the event Anisa Adhikari informed six different teams that have been awarded in the project competition.

In addition to the hackathon, local and foreign celebrities performed songs, dances, and other programs in addition to the hackathon.

Jaikisan Panjiar, chairman of the event organizer NextGen and lead organizer of the organizing committee, said he was interested in participating in the event by replying within two hours of emailing Wozniak. "No one from South Asia invited me to say that this was my first comment in South Asia," said Panjiar.

In his remarks, Wozniak said that the success was due to Steve Jobs and his pursuit of interest, and urged participants to do what they wanted. During his 15-minute speech, Wozniak shared his experience of helping hackathons in other countries.

Wozniak is the designer of the Apple 1 and Apple 2 microcomputers, which were first unveiled by Apple. He also did the initial design of the Apple Macintosh computer, which was later made public by Apple. He left Apple in 1985 and is still a ceremonial employee of the company. After leaving Apple, he set up a company called CL Nine and designed the Universal Remote.

The program is organized by NextGen of Pulchowk Campus with the support of the Devfolio of India. The hackathon sought to find solutions to the problem through the use of technology in six categories, including disaster management, modern financial management for all, education, health and urban population management, and the environment.

More than 30 international organizations, including Europe and Singapore, participated in the 36-hour hackathon.
