DFID and NHSSP Job Vacancy Notice

Department for International Development (DFID)/ Nepal Health Sector Support Programme (NHSSP):

Nepal Health Sector Support Programme (NHSSP) is a technical assistance programme to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), funded by the UK Government through the Department for International Development (DFID) under Nepal Health Sector Programme 3. It is designed to support the goals of Nepal Health Sector Strategy (2015/16-2020/21) and contribute to the MoHP's efforts to provide quality health services leaving no one behind.

From April 2017 to December 2020, NHSSP is being implemented by a consortium led by Options Consultancy Limited, with HERD International, Oxford Policy Management, and Miyamoto International.

The programme is seeking a full time, highly-qualified and motivated professionals who are committed to working with local governments in strengthening local health systems to deliver quality health services to people, through the following positions.

I) Coordinator - Health System Strengthening - position based in Kathmandu

Qualification and Experience: -

  • At least master's degree in public health or relevant social sciences
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years progressive experience at managerial level
  • Excellent technical writing skills in report writing both in English and Nepali
  • Familiarity with the health planning and budgeting process in the health sector
  • Familiar with the ongoing health sector reform process and health system building blocks
  • Demonstrable experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders in a local development programme

II) Officer - Health System Strengthening - position based in the local level

Qualification and Experience: -

  • At least Master's degree in public health or relevant social sciences;
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in relevant field
  • Excellent skills in report writing both in English and Nepali
  • Practical experience with the planning and budgeting process in the health sector
  • Demonstrable experience of working with major programme components in the health sector and the ongoing reform process
  • Demonstrable experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders in a local development programme
