Pursuant to Section 47 of the Local Government Operation Act, 2074, disputes falling within the jurisdiction of the Judicial Committee are to be resolved through mediation.
Accordingly, as it is necessary to prepare a roster of “listed mediators” in line with Section 49(3) of the Local Government Operation Act, 2074 and Section 21 of the Mediation Act, 2068, this notice invites interested and eligible individuals who wish to work as mediators in Kathmandu Metropolitan City to submit an application within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of publication of this notice, along with the details and documents mentioned below.
In addition, mediators who have already been listed in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City roster are also informed to submit an application as per this notice to update their details.
Minimum required qualifications

Nepali citizen

Must have completed 25 years of age

Must have completed at least a bachelor’s degree from a recognized educational institution

Must have completed the prescribed duration of mediation-related training
-
Must be of sound mind

Must not have been convicted by a court for a criminal offense involving moral turpitude

Must not have been declared bankrupt
-
Must not have been removed from the mediator list for doing any act contrary to the Mediation Act
