Applications Invited for Vice-Chancellor, Rector and Registrar of Nepal Sanskrit University
The Selection and Recommendation Committee formed to recommend names for appointment to the vacant posts of Vice-Chancellor, Rector and Registrar of Nepal Sanskrit University has invited applications.
As per the procedure approved by the committee on 2083/2/11, eligible and interested persons may submit applications within 10 days from the date of first publication of the notice through the link provided on the website of the Ministry of Education and Sports, www.moest.gov.np.
According to the notice, applications have been invited for the posts of Vice-Chancellor, Rector and Registrar of Nepal Sanskrit University. Applicants have been asked to prepare PDF files of the required documents and necessary links before applying for the relevant post.
Documents Required for Vice-Chancellor and Rector
Persons wishing to apply for the posts of Vice-Chancellor and Rector must prepare the following documents:

Copies of academic certificates and transcripts of the master’s degree.

Copy of the certificate of PhD degree in Sanskrit language or literature from a recognized university.

Copy of the initial appointment to the post of Professor and a scanned copy of a letter from the currently working educational institution stating that the service has continued without interruption to date or specifying the date from which the person retired.

Scanned copy of documents proving at least 10 years of experience in the academic field related to Sanskrit language and a copy of the initial appointment letter.

Link showing publication of research articles in peer-reviewed journals or ranked journals, if any.

Copy of a vision paper related to Nepal Sanskrit University of up to 5,000 words and a four-year strategic action plan for the university.

While submitting the vision paper and action plan, the document must be divided into two sections: Section “A” for the vision paper and Section “B” for the action plan.

Copy of Nepali citizenship certificate.

Scanned copy of the application form as per Schedule 1 of the procedure after filling it in and signing and affixing the seal/signature.
The procedure provides that candidates for Vice-Chancellor and Rector must have obtained at least a PhD degree in Sanskrit language or literature from a recognized university, have at least 10 years of experience in the academic field related to Sanskrit language, be Nepali citizens, have completed 40 years of age, and have high moral character.
Documents Required for Registrar
Persons applying for the post of Registrar must prepare the following documents:

Copies of the certificate and transcript of a master’s degree in Sanskrit language or literature from a recognized university.

Copy of the PhD degree certificate, if the candidate has completed a PhD.

Copy of the initial appointment to the current post and a scanned copy of a letter issued by the currently working educational institution stating that the service has continued without interruption to date or specifying the date from which the person retired.

Scanned copy of documents proving at least 10 years of experience in higher education in the field of academic or educational administration or research.

Link showing publication of research articles in peer-reviewed journals or ranked journals, if any.

Copy of a vision paper related to Nepal Sanskrit University of up to 5,000 words and a four-year strategic action plan for the university.

The procedure provides that candidates for Registrar must have obtained at least a master’s degree in Sanskrit language or literature from a recognized university, have 10 years of experience in higher education in the field of academic or educational administration or research, be Nepali citizens, and have high moral character.
Selection Process
As per the procedure, candidates will be evaluated on the basis of qualifications, research articles, vision paper related to the university, four-year strategic action plan, presentation, and interview.
As far as available, the names of three persons each for Vice-Chancellor, Rector and Registrar will be recommended to the Chancellor for appointment on the basis of merit order.
The evaluation for Vice-Chancellor and Rector will include experience in the post of Professor, research articles, vision paper, strategic action plan, presentation, and interview.
The evaluation for Registrar will include PhD academic degree, research articles, vision paper, strategic action plan, presentation, and interview.
