Press Council Nepal Invites Applications for Assistant Level 4 Post

Kathmandu — Press Council Nepal has announced an advertisement for permanent recruitment to a vacant post through an open and inclusive competitive written examination, with the consent of Lok Sewa Aayog. The Council published a notice on Baisakh 11, 2083, inviting applications from eligible candidates.

According to the advertisement published by the Council, the details regarding the post, level, number of posts, and required educational qualification are as follows:

  • Educational Qualification: Passed SEE with at least GPA 2 from a recognized educational institution, or passed SLC or equivalent.

  • Schedule-Related Special Condition: The candidate must have passed the preliminary qualification examination conducted by Lok Sewa Aayog on 2082/07/15 for Assistant Level Second Class or equivalent non-technical posts of organized institutions.

Application Process and Fee

Interested candidates must submit the application form at the Council office, Sanchargram, Tilganga, Kathmandu. A recently taken passport-size photograph must be affixed in the designated place on the application form.

Candidates must also submit self-attested copies of their educational qualification certificates and citizenship certificate, along with a certificate issued by the prescribed authority certifying them as Madhesi.

The examination fee has been set at Rs. 500. The amount must be deposited in Press Council Nepal’s current account no. 08401010000160 at Global IME Bank, Sinamangal Branch, and the original voucher must be attached with the application.

Deadline and Age Limit

The last date for submitting applications is Baisakh 31, 2083. Applications may also be submitted within 7 days after that date, that is, until Jestha 7, 2083, by paying double the fee.

If the final day for submitting applications falls on a public holiday, applications may be submitted on the next working day after the office opens.

By the final application deadline, candidates must have completed 18 years of age and must not have exceeded 35 years in the case of male candidates, and 40 years in the case of female candidates and candidates with disabilities. The extended period allowed with double fee will not be counted for the purpose of age, educational qualification, or experience period.

Examination and Other Conditions

The examination will consist of a written examination, information technology skill test, and interview. The written examination will be conducted by Lok Sewa Aayog. The examination center and contact date will be published later after the program is received from Lok Sewa Aayog.

Selected employees will be required to work under the management of the Council. Salary and service benefits will be as per the Council’s rules.

The notice states that, in accordance with the mandamus order issued by the Honorable Supreme Court on 2079/10/24 in the petition relating to certiorari, including Writ No. 078-WO-0660, recruitment will be carried out accordingly after the legal provision is made.

Candidates must not be disqualified under the Press Council Employee Regulations, 2079. Candidates who studied at a foreign institution must submit proof of equivalence determination for the qualification they obtained.

Applications submitted after the prescribed deadline, applications that do not meet the minimum qualification, or applications submitted without payment of the required fee will not be approved.
