HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal is a Swiss non-governmental organization actively contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of poor and disadvantaged people in Nepal. Nepal Agricultural Services Development Programme, Prayas is a bilateral initiative between the Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal. Position: Agriculture Extension Coordinator
- Project: Nepal Agricultural Services Development Programme, Prayas
- Duty station: State Support Unit, Itahari
This position is responsible for overall facilitation for institutionalizing and strengthening decentralized and pluralistic agriculture extension system in the selected local levels of State one. In specific, s/he is responsible to lead the facilitation for planning and designing of extension activities; ensure that market-oriented agriculture services are linked and establish close coordination with the State Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative (MoLMAC), Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock Service, Agriculture Knowledge Center, related sections of Local Levels and Private Sectors.
Required Education, Experience and Social Competence:
Master's degree in Agriculture. Minimum 5 years of working experience in project/programme implementation with 3 years of working experience in agriculture extension specific projects. Commitment to issues related to gender, social equality and poverty reduction.
Position: Institutional Capacity Development Officer
- Project: Nepal Agricultural Services Development Programme, Prayas
- Duty station: State Support Unit, Itahari
This position is responsible for contributing analysis on local institutions their current structure, mechanisms, and performance, and working with local levels to develop interventions for improving the efficiency of extension services system at the local level. S/he will support local levels in developing and implementing their institutional development plan including capacity building plan. Also, s/he supports State Manager for effective and efficient monitoring and reporting, and dissemination of learning among local and state governments.
Required Education, Experience and Social Competence:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Economics or Social Science or relevant subject. Minimum 3 years of work experience of institutional capacity development in the development sector. Experience in project/programme monitoring will be an advantage. Commitment to issues related to gender, social equality and poverty reduction.
Position: Receptionist
- Project: Nepal Agricultural Services Development Programme, Prayas
- Duty station: State Support Unit, Itahari
This position is responsible for front desk management, documentation and recording, and for the basic administrative support. S/he serves as the first point of contact for incoming telephone calls, visitors, and deliveries.
Required Education, Experience and Social Competence:
Intermediate level. Minimum 3 years of similar working experience, having secretarial courses is preferred. Commitment to issues related to gender, social equality and poverty reduction.
