
B.Sc. Admission Notice 2082 - TU IoST
Tribhuvan University, Institute of Science and Technology (IoST), Dean’s Office, Kirtipur, Notice Regarding Filling the Application Form for Admission in B.Sc. Four-Year Undergraduate Level 2082.
For students who wish to get admission in the four-year undergraduate (B.Sc.) program in Science under the annual examination system in the constituent campuses and affiliated colleges under the Institute of Science and Technology, Tribhuvan University, the following entrance examination program has been published for the academic session 2082. The application form must be filled online as follows:
1. Minimum Eligibility for Admission
(a) Must have passed the Secondary Education 10+2 (Science) or Proficiency Certificate Level (I.Sc.) or equivalent examination, taking at least 100 full marks in English subject.
(i) For those wishing to study in the Biological Group: Must have taken Chemistry and Biology subjects with 200/200 full marks each, securing at least second division or Final Grade C in both subjects. Must have passed other subjects and obtained a minimum GPA of 1.6.
(ii) For those wishing to study in the Physical Group: Must have taken Physics and Mathematics subjects with 200/200 full marks each, securing at least second division or Final Grade C in both subjects. Must have passed other subjects and obtained a minimum GPA of 1.6.
(b) For A Level graduates:
(i) For those wishing to study in the Biological Group: Must have passed both Chemistry and Biology subjects with Final Grade D (with or without small letter). Must have passed other subjects and obtained at least Grade E.
(ii) For those wishing to study in the Physical Group: Must have passed both Physics and Mathematics subjects with Final Grade D. Must have passed other subjects and obtained at least Grade E.
(c) In the case of educational qualifications obtained from foreign educational institutions or universities, an equivalence certificate from the Curriculum Development Centre, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur must be submitted.
2. Application Process – Completely Online
(a) Applicants themselves must fill the entrance examination application form placed on the website of the Institute of Science and Technology: https://iost.tu.edu.np and submit it online through the same website.
(b) The online form will be available on the website from 2082/04/28, Wednesday, 10:00 AM to 2082/05/27. Therefore, the application form must be filled within that period. After the specified time, the online form will automatically close.
(c The amount of NPR 1,100/- (in words: one thousand one hundred only) as the entrance examination fee must be deposited into the account of the Dean’s Office, Institute of Science and Technology, at Global IME Bank Limited, Kirtipur Branch, from any branch of Global IME Bank Ltd. within Nepal. The fee can also be deposited through the online medium available in the admission portal using the app and link provided on the IoST website. While filling the online form, it is mandatory to enter the bank voucher number or transaction ID number. The amount paid as the examination fee will not be refunded; therefore, all are informed to fill the form only after understanding all matters.
(d) While filling the form, applicants must compulsorily follow the instructions available online and submit the form with the required information and materials to be uploaded.
Applicants are informed to fill the form only after preparing the transcript, marksheet, equivalence certificate, applicant’s signature (using black ink), and MRP standard photo, which are required to verify the applicant’s minimum qualification.
If unclear or unreadable documents are received, the form will not be approved. The following documents must be uploaded to verify the applicant’s minimum eligibility:
(i) Transcript of Class 11 and Class 12 or transcript of Proficiency Certificate Level (only for applicants who passed the old Higher Secondary and Proficiency Certificate Level)
or
(ii) Marksheet of Class 11 and transcript of Class 12
(e) After filling and submitting the examination form online, the acknowledgement page obtained immediately must be printed. The information provided here will make it easier to download the admit card later.
3. While filling the online form, students must select the preferred examination location, which will be as follows:

For admission, after the entrance exam result, contact must be made with the selected campus.
Note
If fewer than 20 applicants apply for a certain location, the examination center will be maintained at the nearest examination location for those applicants.
4. Entrance examination date and other schedules: Will be published later.
5. Details of campuses running the four-year undergraduate (B.Sc.) program under the Institute of Science and Technology can be obtained from https://iost.tu.edu.np.
6. Information Regarding Entrance Examination
(a) There will be common questions for both Physical and Biological groups. The entrance examination will be of 100 full marks. Based on the syllabus of Class 11 and 12 / I.Sc. or equivalent, there will be objective/multiple choice questions in the following subjects. There will be no negative marking for any objective question.

In case examinees obtain equal marks in the entrance exam, the merit list (placement) will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Chemistry/Physics. If marks are equal there as well, then marks in Biology/Mathematics and English will be considered respectively. If equal even then, lower educational level marks will be considered. Marks obtained on these bases will not be published.
(b) Duration of the entrance exam: 2 hours.
(c) To pass the entrance exam, 35% of the full marks must be obtained.
7. Admission
After the results, each examinee must download their score sheet and contact the college where they wish to be admitted.
8. Regarding Inclusive Quota
Campuses/colleges must admit students on the basis of inclusive quota according to the ‘Regulation on Admission in Reserved Seats in Constituent Campuses under Tribhuvan University, 2074’.
9. Scholarships
Campuses must provide scholarships according to the ‘Scholarship-related Working Guidelines 2079’ of the Institute of Science and Technology, Tribhuvan University.
Note
Students who have taken the Science subject from a recognized educational institution or secondary school in Class 12 or equivalent examination and have failed in up to two subjects with Non-Graded (NG) for which grade improvement exams have been taken and results are yet to be published will also be allowed to apply and appear in the entrance examination. If such examinees do not meet the prescribed minimum qualification, they will not be admitted.
