TU IOM Urgent Notice for Bachelor-Level Enrollment (MECEE-BL 2026)

Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine (IOM), Office of the Dean, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu has issued an urgent notice regarding bachelor-level enrollment.

As per the Medical Education Commission notice published on February 10, 2026 [2082-10-28 (BS)] titled “Publication of the second-phase matching result and enrollment list for paying category of Medical Education Bachelor Level (MECEE-BL 2026),” students recommended for admission to IOM constituent campuses and affiliated colleges must follow the Commission’s conditions and complete enrollment by appearing in person on the dates, time, and place mentioned below.

Enrollment Schedule

Enrollment Dates: February 11, 2026 to February 18, 2026 [2082-10-29 to 2082-11-05 (BS)]
Time: 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Venue: Institute of Medicine, Office of the Dean, 5th Floor, Maharajgunj
Additional Enrollment Date: February 20, 2026 [2082-11-08 (BS)]
Time: 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM

Note: Enrollment will not be conducted on public holidays or on days declared as holidays by Tribhuvan University.

Documents Required for Enrollment

Citizenship Certificate: Original
SEE/SLC or Equivalent: Original certificate, grade sheet/transcript, and character certificate
10+2 or Equivalent: Board or provisional certificate, transcript, and character certificate
Equivalence Letter: For those who passed from foreign boards/institutions
MECEE Admit Card: Entrance examination admit card issued by the Medical Education Commission
Council Registration Certificate: For relevant professional academic programs
For professional programs, if the candidate is currently employed, an approval letter allowing study from the employing institution is required. If resigned/retired, resignation acceptance and service experience letter (and related documents) are required.

Applicants must submit digital copies of the above academic qualification documents and enter personal and academic details through the IOM Academic Management System (IOM-AMS) before appearing for enrollment with original documents.

Important Instructions for the IOM-AMS Application Form

Fill in all details exactly as per the citizenship certificate and academic certificates.
Upload clear, readable scanned copies of all required documents.
Upload the citizenship certificate clearly on both sides.
If uploading a council registration certificate, upload clear scans of both sides.
Before submitting the form, verify all entered details yourself and then submit.
If any error is found during verification or any document is unclear, resubmission must be done at the enrollment time and place as instructed by the verifier.
After submitting the IOM-AMS form, obtain the IOM Application Code, complete all enrollment procedures at IOM, and finally obtain the MEC Admission Confirmation Page to confirm admission.

Fee Information for Paying Category Applicants

As per the Medical Education Commission notice dated June 26, 2024 [2081-03-13 (BS)], applicants recommended for paying seats under IOM constituent campuses and affiliated colleges must deposit an amount equal to one-third of the full fee.

At the time of enrollment, submit the original bank voucher or verified proof of deposit showing that one-third of the full fee has been deposited into the IOM bank account.

Barrier System Information

First Phase

(MBBS/BDS: First Year and Second Year; BAMS: First Year)

First Phase Barrier

MBBS and BDS students must pass the First Year examination within a maximum of 6 attempts (including regular attempts) and the Second Year examination within a maximum of 4 attempts (including regular attempts).
BAMS students must pass the First Year examination within a maximum of 4 attempts (including regular attempts).
Participation in the second phase classes is allowed only after passing all subjects of the first phase.
If a student fails to pass within the stated attempt limits, enrollment will be cancelled and the student will be removed from the program.
If a student does not appear in an examination conducted during the stated period, it will still be counted as an attempt (as if present).
However, if a student provides a reasonable written reason and either does not fill the exam form or, after filling the form, is unable to appear in any examination, then (after approval from the Dean’s Office) up to two attempts within the first phase will not be counted.

Exit Barrier for Academic Session Completion

Every student must pass all subjects of MBBS, BDS, and BAMS within 10 years from the start of the academic session.
For bachelor-level programs other than MBBS, BDS, and BAMS, all subjects must be passed within the program period plus an additional 4 years (Course Duration + 4 years) from the start of the academic session.
Students must be mandatorily present at the concerned campus/college within 15 days from the date classes start.
