Overview
Shankar Technical Training Center (Shankar Technical Institute) was established in 1998 AD (2055 BS) as a privately owned technical institute located in Janakpur, Dhanusa district of Nepal.
It is affiliated with the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training. The Nepal Health Professional Council and the Nepal Ayurvedic Medical Council accredit it.
Shankar Technical Training Center offers various health-related and technical courses, such as PCL in General Medicine (HA), Certificate in Medical Lab Technology (CMLT - Lab Technician), Ayurveda General Medicine (AHA), Pre-Diploma in Civil Engineering, Pre-Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and Survey Engineering (Amin).

Courses offered
3-Year Diploma Programs
These are longer courses that train you to become a mid-level professional.
General Medicine (H.A.)
This program trains you to become a Health Assistant. You'll learn to provide primary medical care, especially in rural health posts where you might be the main healthcare provider. It's a very practical and respected role in local communities.
Lab Technician (CMLT)
As a Medical Lab Technician, you'll be the one running tests in a hospital or clinic lab. You’ll learn how to analyze blood, tissue, and other samples to help doctors diagnose illnesses.
Ayurveda General Medicine (AHA)
This is the Ayurveda Health Assistant program. It's similar to the H.A. course, but it focuses on traditional Ayurvedic medicine. You'll learn to provide healthcare based on Ayurvedic principles.
18-Month Pre-Diploma Programs
These are shorter, more focused courses designed to get you into a technical job quickly.
Pre-Diploma in Civil Engineering
This course trains you to be a Civil Sub-Overseer. You'll learn the basics of construction and work on projects like buildings, roads, and bridges under the guidance of an engineer.
Pre-Diploma in Electrical Engineering
This program prepares you to work as a junior electrician or Electrical Sub-Overseer. You'll learn skills like wiring, installation, and repairing electrical systems.
Survey Engineering (Amin)
This course trains you to become a surveyor, known as an Amin. You'll learn how to measure land and create maps, a key skill for both government land offices and private construction companies.
