The BBS program is intended to develop students for organized sectors of activity through broad knowledge of business operations and management. It aims to build conceptual understanding of business and administration, managerial perspective, practical skill, and a foundation for higher studies in management. The course also connects business study with entrepreneurship, teaching, research, and consultancy.
For successful completion of the degree, students are required to complete 27 courses and 4 practicum and graduate seminars, equivalent to 66 credit hours. The structure includes 7 foundation and analytical tool courses, 10 core and functional courses, 2 capstone courses, 4 concentration or specialization courses, 2 electives, and research project, internship, seminars, and other project work.
The curriculum is organized to provide both breadth and depth in business education. It includes allied areas such as language, economic analysis, legal environment, quantitative methods, and research methods, along with core business studies and specialization areas such as accounting, finance, human resources management, management science, and marketing.
Applicants to the BBS program must have successfully completed PCL or 10+2 in business or commerce, or an equivalent course from a board or university recognized by Tribhuvan University. The program also requires at least D Plus in each subject in 10+2.
The minimum general requirements for the four-year BBS program include at least 150 teaching days in an academic year, 615 instructional hours in an academic year, and a minimum of five class periods each teaching day.
