The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at Solukhumbu Law Campus is a three-year bachelor-level law program affiliated with Purbanchal University. The course is offered in Salleri, Solukhumbu, Koshi Province.
Solukhumbu Law Campus began the LLB program after its establishment in 2025 AD (2082 BS). The campus has received permission to enroll 60 students in the program. Classes are initially conducted using the building and infrastructure of Solukhumbu Multiple Campus.

Course Purpose
The LLB curriculum covers legal theory, Nepalese laws, judicial procedures, constitutional principles, legal research, international law, professional ethics, advocacy, and practical legal work.
Students examine how laws are formed, interpreted, applied, and enforced. The program also includes subjects related to civil and criminal procedures, property, contracts, companies, evidence, labour relations, human rights, public administration, and the professional responsibilities of lawyers.
Practical components such as moot court, advocacy exercises, legal drafting, client interviewing, seminar work, and internship are included within the three-year curriculum.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed graduation in any subject are eligible to apply for the three-year LLB program at Solukhumbu Law Campus.
The program is therefore intended for students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent graduation-level education in another academic discipline.
Admission and Intake
Solukhumbu Law Campus has permission to admit 60 students to the LLB program. Admission dates, application procedures, entrance requirements, selection methods, required documents, class schedules, and fee arrangements are managed through the campus administration.
Course Duration and Academic Structure
The LLB is completed over three academic years. Each year combines compulsory legal subjects, while the second and third years also include optional subjects grouped under criminal law, commercial law, and constitutional law.
Most theory subjects carry 100 full marks with 35 pass marks. Selected compulsory practical or applied subjects carry 50 full marks with pass marks determined by the relevant syllabus.

Advanced Jurisprudence covers schools of legal thought, concepts of rights and duties, justice, personality, possession, ownership, and the philosophy of law. Procedural Law examines judicial processes, jurisdiction, limitation, civil and criminal litigation, and the execution of judgments.
Contract Law addresses the formation, performance, and termination of contracts, while Constitutional Law focuses on constitutional principles and structures. Legal Research introduces research methodology, case-law research, legislative research, data collection, report writing, and citation. Legislative Principles examines law-making processes, legislative drafting, accountability, and law reform.
Second-Year Curriculum
The second year develops students’ understanding of substantive laws, evidence, statutory interpretation, labour relations, and courtroom practice.

Property Law covers property, possession, ownership, land-tenure systems, land administration, and intellectual property provisions within the subject. Company Law examines company formation, corporate documents, directors, meetings, capital, shares, corporate governance, mergers, and liquidation.
Criminal Law covers criminal responsibility, elements and stages of crime, defences, offences against persons and property, and selected socio-economic offences. Interpretation of Statutes introduces principles and methods used to interpret legislation.
Evidence Law examines different forms of evidence, admissibility, burden of proof, expert opinion, witness examination, and the collection and custody of evidence. Labour Law covers employment conditions, industrial relations, social security, occupational safety, disputes, and trade unions. Moot Court develops case-file preparation, client interviewing, oral argument, and familiarity with trial proceedings.

Administrative Law covers administrative powers, delegated legislation, administrative discretion, quasi-judicial bodies, natural justice, ombudsman institutions, and judicial development of administrative law.
Public International Law examines sources and subjects of international law, recognition, nationality, treaties, the law of the sea, international disputes, the use of force, and international humanitarian law. International Organizations and Human Rights introduces the United Nations, international and regional organizations, international courts, and human-rights principles.
Professional Ethics and Advocacy covers lawyers’ responsibilities, relations between the bar and the bench, legal drafting, pleading, negotiation, oral argument, witness examination, legal aid, and judicial conduct. The Seminar and Internship component requires students to complete supervised legal research or practical work in an approved area of law.

Practical Learning
The course includes practical legal training alongside theory. Moot Court involves case-file preparation, pre-trial work, client interviews, oral advocacy, and participation in simulated or observed proceedings.
Professional Ethics and Advocacy adds drafting, pleading, negotiation, case preparation, communication, and witness-examination skills. In the third year, students complete either seminar-based legal research or an internship approved by the campus.
These components allow students to work with legal materials, prepare arguments, conduct research, and understand professional procedures within an academic setting.
