BBA Program Overview

The BBA curriculum combines foundational study with business core courses, specialization subjects, electives, practical work, attachments, and field-based assignments. The eight-semester structure allows students to develop their academic understanding gradually, beginning with basic business concepts and moving toward functional management areas, specialization, and applied learning.

The first and second semesters introduce foundational and core subjects. The third and fourth semesters strengthen students’ understanding of business functions, while the final four semesters give greater attention to elective study, specialization, practicum, business attachment, projects, and field-based work.

The curriculum provides seven specialization areas from which students may select according to the available academic structure. Open elective courses allow students to study additional application-oriented subjects alongside their main business and management courses.

Curriculum and Study Areas

The program covers economics, business mathematics, English communication, information technology, psychology, organizational behaviour, marketing, statistics, accounting, finance, auditing, and the Nepalese business environment.

Individual courses within the Far-Western University BBA syllabus include Microeconomics, Business Mathematics I, English Grammar and Composition, Computer Applications in Management, English for Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Behaviour, Fundamentals of Marketing, Business Statistics II, Nepalese Business Environment, Principle of Auditing and Practice, and Investment and Portfolio Management.

This mix of subjects helps students understand both the internal functions of an organization and the wider economic, social, technological, legal, and ethical conditions that influence business decisions.

Practical and Applied Learning

Practical learning is included through assignments, project work, field visits, business attachments, practicum activities, and individual research. In the senior year, students may work as interns in business or community organizations and complete field-based research activities.

At WCBS, concept-based teaching is supported by activity-oriented learning, regular assessments, and mentoring. Students can use the computer lab, internet services, library, multimedia classrooms, and conference hall for academic work, presentations, research, and group activities.

Expected Learning Outcomes

After completing the BBA program, students are expected to develop:

  • A critical understanding of organizations, management, and changing business environments

  • Analytical and investigative approaches to business problems

  • The ability to form reasoned conclusions and communicate them clearly

  • Knowledge of contemporary business concerns, including sustainability, ethics, global citizenship, and ethical decision-making
