Bulintar (Nawalpur), 2082 Magh 11. On the occasion of the 51st anniversary and Parents’ Day of Rambhadevi Basic School in Bulintar, Nawalpur, educational materials were distributed to students, and clothes were provided to underprivileged parents.
The distribution was carried out through the Dattanarayan Padam Shrestha Endowment Fund Operation, Contact, Coordination, and Support Committee–2078.
On the first death anniversary of the endowment fund’s founder, Padmakumari Shrestha, students received educational uniforms and learning materials. Underprivileged parents received cups, electricity meter boxes, scarves, caps, and quilts and mattresses.
Purpose and background of the endowment fund
Inaugurating the program, senior herbal medicine specialist Dr. Bijuliprasad Timsina stated that the endowment fund was established with the objective of providing relief to underprivileged students and parents.
He said that for the past four years, the institution has been serving not only underprivileged students but also parents, and that the endowment fund has become a notable institution of service and welfare.
Messages from the chief patron and sponsor
The fund’s chief patron, former zonal administrator and advocate Mahendraman Byathit, stated that the endowment fund was established with the motivation to use wealth and power for welfare purposes.
He said that even by requesting support, the fund has fulfilled its purpose effectively by distributing items such as educational materials, toothbrushes, tooth powder, soap, clothes, and quilts and mattresses to underprivileged students and parents.
At the program, regional manager Rajiv Gautam of the sponsor, Kamana Development Bank, expressed happiness about being able to distribute other essential materials in addition to educational supplies.
He stated that the fund provided necessary items to both students and parents equally, according to their respective needs.
Materials and support distributed
On the occasion, Kamana Development Bank provided students with uniforms, shoes and socks, and geometry boxes worth NPR 148,000.
Similarly, the Dattanarayan Padam Shrestha Memorial Foundation, Syangja distributed the following items:

Quilts and mattresses, caps, electricity meter boxes, and scarves worth NPR 152,000

Tooth powder, toothbrushes, and soap worth NPR 11,000
In the same way, the late Padmakumari Shrestha’s brother-in-law, Yuktaprasad Shrestha, and sister-in-law, Bishnu Shrestha, distributed jackets and other clothes worth approximately NPR 75,000 to both students and parents.
From the endowment fund itself, a rice-cooking pot worth NPR 10,000 was also provided to Darbeshwori Aama Samuha.
Overall, the program reported that materials worth NPR 346,000 were distributed.
Memorial event and community meal
In connection with the annual remembrance of Padmakumari Shrestha, a lamp-lighting event was held on the bank of the Kaligandaki River near the school.
A meal was also arranged for 300 people, including students and parents.
Program management and current fund balance
The program was held under the chairmanship of the fund’s president, Kulbahadur Khatri, and was conducted by secretary Madhavprasad Pokhrel.
At the program, fund secretary and school principal Suryaprasad Kandel informed that the fund currently holds NPR 410,000.
The program included a welcome song and poetry recitation by students. Social worker Chetbahadur Godami, Gautam Darai, and student Kavita Darai highlighted the importance of the event.
