PSC Update: Section Officer Result and Sub-Engineer Revision

The Public Service Commission (PSC), Central Office has published the first-stage result for the Gazetted Third Class (Non-Technical) Section Officer post and revised the advertisement for the Non-Gazetted First Class (Technical) Sub-Engineer post. The Commission has also kept the recruitment process of some Nayab Subba advertisements in status quo for the time being, in line with an order of the Supreme Court.
Section Officer First-Stage Result Published
As per Notice No. 997/082-83 issued by the Written Examination Results Publication Branch, the first-stage examination result for Section Officer or equivalent (exam held on February 6, 2026 [2082-10-24 (BS)]) was published on February 27, 2026 [2082-11-15 (BS)].
Under Advertisement Nos. 16701–16707/082-83 (Open and Inclusive), out of 23,488 candidates who appeared, 7,908 candidates have been selected for the second stage (in roll-number order). The exams of 28 candidates were cancelled for not mentioning “Key” on the answer booklet.
Sub-Engineer Advertisement Revised and Deadline Extended
The Sub-Engineer advertisement was revised through Notice No. 989/082-83 dated March 1, 2026 [2082-11-17 (BS)]. The revision was made after the Ministry of Urban Development requested adjustments in the number of posts.

Nayab Subba Recruitment Kept in Status Quo
Regarding Nayab Subba, as per Notice No. 996/082-83 dated February 26, 2026 [2082-11-14 (BS)], and in accordance with an interim order of the Supreme Court, the recruitment process has been kept in status quo for the time being for the following advertisements:

Kharidar Results and Interview Schedule
PSC offices in Khotang, Jaleshwar, and Butwal have also published written examination results and interview schedules for the Kharidar post. Interviews for selected candidates in all three offices have been scheduled for March 22, 2026 [2082-12-08 (BS)].

Correction in Library Science Advertisement Number
The Written Examination Results Publication Branch stated that the open-category advertisement number for the Library Science group should have been 12034/082-83, but it was published otherwise. It has been corrected and maintained as 12035/082-83.
