Syllabus for Open Competitive Examination – Level 4 Assistant

This syllabus applies to the open competitive examination for administrative service, administration/cash group/sub-group, Level 4, Assistant/Assistant (Cash)/Lekhapal (Administration) posts or equivalent of Nepal Bank Limited, Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited (RBB), and Agriculture Development Bank Limited (ADBL).

Examination Scheme

This syllabus is based on a Unified Examination System and is divided into two stages:

  • First Stage: Written Examination — Full Marks: 200

  • Second Stage: Interview — Full Marks: 30

First Stage: Written Examination (Full Marks: 200)

Paper 1

  • Subject: Banking, Management, Accounting, Mathematics, and Information Technology

  • Full Marks: 100

  • Pass Marks: 40

  • Examination System: Subjective (Short and Long Answer Questions)

  • Question Distribution: 12 Questions × 5 Marks, 4 Questions × 10 Marks

  • Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

Paper 2

  • Subject: Service, Group, and Institution-related Subjects

  • Full Marks: 100

  • Pass Marks: 40

  • Examination System: Subjective (Short and Long Answer Questions)

  • Question Distribution: 8 Questions × 5 Marks, 6 Questions × 10 Marks

  • Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes

Second Stage: Interview (Full Marks: 30)

  • Subject: Interview

  • Full Marks: 30

  • Examination System: Oral

Important Notes

  • Only candidates who qualify through the Pre-Qualifying Examination conducted by the commission for non-technical assistant level, second class, Kharidar or equivalent, or Level 4 or equivalent posts in organized institutions are eligible to sit for this examination under the Unified Examination System.

  • As per this scheme, Paper 1 of the written examination will be common and compulsory for all candidates applying for Nepal Bank Limited, Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited, and Agriculture Development Bank Limited under the administrative service, administration/cash group/sub-group, Level 4, Assistant/Assistant (Cash)/Lekhpal (Administration) posts. However, Paper 2 (Service, Group, and Institution-related Subject) will differ according to the respective institution/organization.

  • The written examination of Paper 1 will be conducted on the same day with the same question paper for all institutions/organizations, whereas Paper 2 will be conducted on different days with separate question papers for each institution/organization.

  • The medium of the question paper will be both Nepali and English.

  • Candidates may write their answers in Nepali or English, or a combination of both.

  • The number of questions, marks, and weightage will be as specified for each paper/subject.

  • Separate answer sheets will be provided for each section of the subjective questions. Candidates must answer each section in the designated answer sheet.

  • Any law, act, rule, regulation, or policy included in the syllabus will be considered as per the status in effect up to three months prior to the examination date, even if amended, repealed, or newly introduced.
