
Embassy of Japan Announcement of Scholarship
The Embassy of Japan announces the competition for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships for Nepali students for the academic year 2026 in the fields of Natural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Program and Qualifications
1. Research Students
Must have been born on or after April 2, 1991, and have completed at least 16 years of education and secured 70% marks (CGPA: 3.1) for Natural Sciences and 60% (CGPA: 2.5) for Humanities and Social Sciences in average in Plus2 and above degrees.
2. Undergraduate Students and
Must have been born on or after April 2, 2001, and have secured at least 75% marks (CGPA: 3.5) for Natural Sciences and 65% marks (CGPA: 2.9) for Social Sciences in average in SEE and Plus2 exam.
3. Specialized Training College Students
Must have been born on or after April 2, 2001, and have secured at least 65% marks (CGPA: 2.9) in average in SEE and Plus2 exam.
Written examinations will be held on June 28th.
For research students, the field of study must be the same as the applicants’ previous study leading to their final graduation. Attested (by a Notary Public) copies of the academic transcripts and Nepali citizenship need to be submitted along with the application.
