Overview

Asia Pacific School (APS) is a leading educational institution that offers an inclusive and challenging learning environment that celebrates academic excellence. With a mission to prepare global-minded and enthusiastic lifelong learners, APS provides a multilingual and international learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential. In this article, we will discuss the vision, mission, motto, and values of APS, as well as its focus on future-focused and integrated learning approaches.

Vision:

APS envisions preparing dynamic, caring, and world-class citizens who can meet the challenges of a global society while retaining their traditional values. APS aims to achieve this vision by providing a vibrant teaching and learning environment that nurtures and develops the body, mind, and spirit of each learner.

Mission:

The mission of APS is to be a center of excellence in education with a rich heritage of Nepal. It stresses the simultaneous development of body, mind, and spirit, and endeavors to create compassionate, responsible, and innovative global citizens who are committed to the development of Nepal and the world.

Motto:

APS believes that learning is for life skills, and its motto reflects this belief. "Learning for life skills" emphasizes the importance of developing skills that will be useful throughout life, beyond just academic learning.

Values:

APS places a strong emphasis on values that promote personal and social responsibility. The core values of APS include:

  • Accountability: APS believes in taking responsibility for one's own intellectual, social, personal, and emotional development, as well as physical wellbeing.
  • Sincerity: APS values honesty, kindness, and gratitude, and encourages learners to support those who are less fortunate or in difficult circumstances.
  • Integrity: APS believes in the importance of integrity and hard work undertaken with morality, determination, and a sense of commitment.
  • Admiration: APS respects the community, environment, and individuals. It values diversity and accepts all without prejudice.

Future-focused and Integrated Learning Approaches:

APS provides a future-focused and integrated learning approach that focuses on a wider range of knowledge that is content-specific. The approach uses Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. It is project-based and allows learners to gain a wider breadth of knowledge into STEAM subjects through a trans-disciplinary approach. This approach fosters problem-solving, lifelong learning, and prepares learners to face the challenges of a complex and interconnected global community.

Asia Pacific School is committed to providing an inspiring, inclusive, and challenging learning environment that prepares learners for lifelong learning. Its focus on values, future-focused and integrated learning approaches, and the mission to develop global-minded citizens make it an institution of excellence in Nepal.

Academic Programmes Offered:

We offer a comprehensive academic program for students from Play Group to Grade XII, with a focus on delivering a high-quality education that caters to the unique needs of each student. Our academic program is divided into five wings:

  1. Pre-School (Play Group - Sr. Kindergarten): Our Kindergarten program is based on Montessori and CPS teaching methods, which allows children to learn through natural learning and hands-on activities. Our objective is to help children develop social, linguistic, and interactive skills that will prepare them for further education.
  2. Elementary School (Grade 1 – 5): Our Elementary School program is based on the National Curriculum of Nepal and is enriched by the application of highly regarded international curriculums. The lessons are designed to encourage collaborative learning, and students are taught in a variety of ways, including pair and small-group work, individual tasks, and whole-class discussions.
  3. Upper Elementary School (Grade 6 – 8): Our Upper Elementary School program builds on the foundation laid in the Elementary School program. Students are taught in dedicated classrooms with subject groupings, and the core subjects are expanded to include Occupation, Business, and Technological Education (OBTE), Moral Studies, and Health and Hygiene.
  4. High School (Grade 9 – 10): Our High School program is designed to prepare students for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) conducted by the National Examination Board, Nepal. Students are offered subjects as per the national curriculum along with two optional subjects of their choice. Additionally, we offer foreign language classes in Spanish / French / Mandarin.
  5. High School (Grade 11 – 12): Our High School program builds on the foundation laid in the previous grades and is designed to prepare students for higher education.

Each wing is led by a competent and experienced academic administrator who is guided and supervised by the Vice Principal, Academic Head, and Principal. Our academic program is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education that equips them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in life.
