Gandaki Boarding School, Pokhara was established in 1966 AD as a private educational institution, which is situated in Pokhara Metropolitan City-16, Lamachaur, Kaski, Gandaki Province, Nepal. It is affiliated to the National Examination Board (NEB) and approved by the Ministry of Education. It offers educational programs from PG to grade 10 and Plus Two (Class 11 and 12) in the Science streams.

Gandaki Boarding School (GBS), is a non-profit institution with the motto ‘Knowledge, Character, and Service. It is a selective co-educational boarding school that offers its service to students ranging from Grades 4 to 12. The school is a multi-lingual, multi-cultural, and multi-ethnic educational institution that incorporates all castes, cultures, religions, values, and languages.

It features an inquiry-based, concept-driven curriculum that provides a well-rounded, student-centered program. The language of instruction is English. Students are blessed with the opportunity to express their talents in a variety of athletics, academic, artistic, and creative work. The school sponsors a variety of clubs such as Health and Sanitation, Handwriting, and English that can foster their potential. Seven academic departments and seven administrative sections team up to work for a better output. A new ICT Building and swimming pool have recently been added to the School.

Scholarship:

Gandaki Boarding School was established with a view to imparting education of an international standard keeping in view the thirst of students of the Western Development Region for quality education. As it solely believes in the holistic development of a child, students here are nurtured providing a homely and caring environment for their mental, physical and social development. The school provides all-round education that challenges the student’s mind, body, and spirit.

It associates freedom with responsibility and reason with emotion. As it is a non-profit-making institution, the objective of the school is to provide quality education at an affordable cost.

The school has been providing scholarship facilities to 20 – 25% of students, who are underprivileged, marginalize d, backward, and who are from remote areas and so-called low castes. Such scholarship ranges from class 4 to class 12 and college level as well.

These students are given facilities as per their categories. They adjust themselves to the motto of Knowledge, Character, and Service.

Health Center:- It has a health center with medical staff in 24 hr service. It provides comprehensive primary care, as well as supportive services such as health education.

Transportation:- School Bus service for day students within Pokhara valley.

Swimming Pool:- Gandaki boarding school has recently added the facility of water sports for its student. It has an international-standard swimming pool and specialized in water sports for its student, It has appointed a trainer and lifeguards.

Library:- Gandaki Boarding School has one of the largest libraries in the Western Region. It has more than 14000 books from different categories and other national and international magazines, which are easily accessible to its student and staff.

ICT in Education:- The use of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) is a valuable tool to enhance the learning experience and accessing resources. Gandaki Boarding School has invested heavily in ICT in order to meet the higher quality and standards in Education.
