Applications Invited for Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited

The Selection and Recommendation Committee formed under the Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal, has invited applications to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) through open competition.

According to the notice first published on 2083 Shrawan 12, interested and qualified Nepali citizens must submit their applications within 15 days, by office hours on 2083 Shrawan 26.

Applicants must submit their application and a confidentially sealed business action plan to the Financial Sector Management and Corporation Coordination Division, Ministry of Finance, Singha Durbar, Kathmandu.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have obtained at least one of the following qualifications from a recognized educational institution:

  • A master’s degree in Economics, Commerce, Finance, Management, Information Technology, or Law;

  • Chartered Accountancy; or

  • An equivalent qualification.

Applicants must also have:

  • At least 15 years of total work experience; and

  • At least seven years of experience at the managerial level in the capital market, financial sector, or management-related work.

For this purpose, “managerial level” means:

  • At least Second Class Officer level or equivalent in the Government of Nepal; or

  • In the case of a company or organized institution, a person serving as the chief executive or in managerial leadership within two levels below the chief executive.

Applicants must have completed 30 years of age and must not be older than 65 years.

Disqualification Conditions

A person will be considered ineligible for the position if they:

  • Are not a Nepali citizen;

  • Have been convicted of corruption, money laundering, human trafficking, narcotics trafficking, an offence involving archaeological objects or protected wildlife, or another criminal offence involving moral turpitude;

  • Have not completed three years since being removed from a blacklist maintained under prevailing law;

  • Have obtained permanent residency permission in a foreign country;

  • In the case of a chief executive, are currently carrying out work under a contract agreement with a public body;

  • Are not mentally fit; or

  • Are otherwise disqualified under Sections 2.2 and 2.3 of the Procedure for the Selection and Recommendation of the Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited, 2083.

Documents Required with the Application

Applicants must personally certify and submit the documents required under Section 3 of the Procedure, 2083, published on the websites of the Ministry of Finance and NEPSE.

The application must include:

  • The self-declaration form prescribed in Schedule 1;

  • Two passport-size photographs; and

  • All other documents required under Section 3 of the Procedure.

The business action plan prepared under Section 4 must be submitted in three copies in a sealed envelope.

The outside of the sealed envelope must state the applicant’s name and the following:

“Application and Business Action Plan for the Position of Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited”

Application Fee and Bank Details

Applicants must pay an application fee of Rs. 5,000 and submit the original bank voucher with the application.

The fee must be deposited at Rastriya Banijya Bank, Singha Durbar Branch, using the following details:

  • Revenue Account No.: 1000100200010000

  • Revenue Heading: 14224

Remuneration and Other Conditions

The monthly remuneration, allowances, and other benefits of the appointed Chief Executive Officer will be as determined by the Government of Nepal.

The Recommendation Committee reserves the right to cancel any application with or without stating a reason.

An application will be cancelled if an applicant submits false information or documents. Such an applicant will also be subject to action under prevailing law.
