Programs and Seat Details
For the academic session 2082/083, the Faculty of Agriculture, Far Western University, will enroll students in the Master’s level programs in:

Seat allocation per subject:

Open quota: 10 seats

In-service quota: 2 seats
-
Total per subject: 12 seats
Application Period and Submission Method
Interested students who meet the minimum academic qualification may apply for the entrance examination from 2082/10/08 to 2082/10/29, either online or offline.
Applicants may:

Apply offline by visiting the Dean’s Office, Tikapur, Kailali with the required documents
Applications will not be accepted if the required documents are incomplete or if submitted documents and written details are found to be false.
1. Minimum Academic Qualification

Must have passed B.Sc. Ag. with at least Second Division (Minimum 50% or 2.5 GPA out of 4)

Entrance examination fee: NPR 2,500/- (Two thousand five hundred only)

Note:
Admit cards can be obtained via http://agriculture.fwu.edu.np or from the Dean’s Office. On the exam day, students must bring the admit card along with the original citizenship certificate.
4. Subject-wise Marks Distribution for the Entrance Exam
For the Master’s level Agronomy entrance exam, 100 objective questions will be asked from the subjects listed below.

5. Merit List and Quota Provisions
5.1 Pass mark and merit basis

Minimum pass mark: 50%
-
Merit ranking will be determined by treating the entrance exam score as 100%.
5.2 Tie-breaking criteria (priority order)
If two or more applicants obtain equal scores, merit ranking will be determined based on scores in the following subjects क्रमशः:

Agronomy / Horticulture (Priority 1)

Crop Physiology, Biochemistry & Ecology (Priority 2)

Statistics and Mathematics (Priority 3)
-
Plant Breeding (Priority 4)

Plant Protection (Priority 5)

5.3 Scholarship and fee quota
For the Master’s level Agronomy and Horticulture programs:

10% full scholarship quota
-
10% partial scholarship quota (50%)
-
80% full fee (IDF) quota
5.4 In-service quota eligibility
To study under the in-service quota, applicants must:

Be in permanent or temporary service for at least 3 years in:
-
Government of Nepal or its agencies, or
-
Non-government organizations, or
-
Agricultural companies

Must have passed the entrance examination
6. Other Requirements

Matters not clearly mentioned in this notice will be decided as per the decisions of the FWU Academic Committee and the Master’s Program Operation Committee.

Applicants unable to submit the Bachelor’s level transcript at the time of application must submit it compulsorily at the time of enrollment.

Applicants who completed Bachelor’s level education outside Nepal must submit an equivalence certificate at the time of enrollment.
