Nepal Open University Calls Applications for Bachelor-Level Programs: DLIM, BA, One Year B.Ed, BES, LLB, BBS, BIT
Nepal Open University, Central Office, Manbhawan, Lalitpur, has called online applications for student admission to bachelor-level programs under various faculties. As per the notice published on 2083 Ashadh 17, admissions have been opened for semester-based and annual-system programs for the 2083 monsoon session.
Details of the admission schedule, faculty-wise academic programs, and minimum qualifications are given below.
Entrance Examination and Admission Schedule
Online application form submission date: From 2083/03/21 to 2083/04/18
Entrance examination: From the fourth week of Shrawan 2083, as per the method and schedule determined by the concerned Dean’s Office
Student admission begins: From the second week of Bhadra 2083
Classes begin: From the fourth week of Bhadra 2083
Entrance examination fee: Rs. 1,000/-

Faculty, Academic Programs, and Minimum Qualification Details
1. Faculty of Social Sciences and Education
The programs conducted under this faculty and their details are as follows:
Academic Program: Bachelor of Arts (BA)
Subjects: Sociology (Common Major), English (Major), Nepali (Major), Economics (Major), Media Studies (Journalism and Mass Communication) (Major), Library and Information Science (Major), Political Science (Major), Islamic Studies (Major), Newa: Studies (Major), Kirat Studies (Major), Magar Studies (Major), and Tamang Studies (Major)
Duration and system: 4 years / 8 semesters
Minimum qualification: Applicants must have passed the Proficiency Certificate Level from a recognized university, or Secondary Level (10+2) from the National Examination Board, or an equivalent level, with a minimum D+ in all subjects for those who passed before 2078. Applicants who passed after 2078 must have obtained D grade.
Academic Program: One Year B.Ed.
Subjects: English Education, Mathematics Education, Science Education, Computer Science Education, Plant Science Education, Civil Engineering Education, and Social Studies
Duration and system: 1 year / 2 semesters
Minimum qualification: For admission to Social Studies Education, applicants who have passed the bachelor’s level with major subjects under social sciences, including Economics, History, Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Population Studies, Political Science, Rural Development, Social Work, Psychology, Culture, Home Science, Management, and Civics, may apply.
Academic Program: One Year B.Ed. PS.
Subject: Pedagogical Science
Duration and system: 1 year / 2 semesters
Minimum qualification: Applicants must have passed bachelor’s level or equivalent in any subject from a recognized university or the National Examination Board.
Academic Program: Bachelor in Educational Sciences (BES)
Subjects: English Education, Mathematics Education, and Social Studies Education
Duration and system: 4 years / 8 semesters
Minimum qualification: For English and Social Studies, applicants must have passed Grade 12 in any subject with GPA 2.00 or letter grade “C” (PLC or equivalent). For Mathematics, applicants must have passed Grade 12 with Science and Mathematics as major subjects and must have GPA 2.00 or letter grade “C” in the concerned subject area (PLC or equivalent).
Academic Program: Diploma
Subject: Diploma in Library and Information Management (DLIM)
Duration and system: 1 year / 2 semesters
Minimum qualification: Applicants must have passed 10+2 level or equivalent in any subject.
